Everett Ray Kyle, son of the late Albert Kyle and Jewell McClain Kyle, was born on November 9, 1950, Cairo, Illinois, and departed this life on January 27, 2024, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 73 years.
Affectionately known as Pop, Pa, or Old Pa, Everett passed away with a heart full of memories and a legacy that spans a lifetime. He graduated from Dexter High School in 1969. Following in the footsteps of his late father Albert, Everett dedicated his life to the electrical profession, leaving a lasting mark on Southeast Missouri farms, industries, businesses, and residences. His commitment to his craft played a crucial role in shaping the landscape of the region. Including building substations and developing the SCADA system for the City of Sikeston, he later traveled to California, teaching others how to utilize the system. One of his main accomplishments in the City of Sikeston power station was solving the turbine problem that had plagued the plant since day one. Many saw him not only as a proficient electrician but as a mentor and craftsman whose impact was felt far and wide. His legacy lives on in the wires he meticulously connected, the circuits he masterfully navigated, and the countless lives he illuminated with his knowledge.
Settling in Dexter, Mo, Everett married Karen Kay Perry and together they raised two sons, Aaron and Ben. He shared his passion for 4x4 trucks and the art of rebuilding cars, creating lasting memories with his boys. Everett's enthusiasm extended to his famous 1974 International Hi-Binder, and he proudly served as the president of the Bootheel 4 Wheelers in the 1980s.
Beyond his professional and automotive pursuits, Everett was a collector at heart. His love for coins and a diverse collection of toys, particularly model trains and International tractors, showcased his eclectic interests and joyful spirit, sharing this love of trains and tractors with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In the later years of his career, Everett established his own business, eventually becoming an electrical supervisor for Progressive Industrial Electric. Locally known to many as the smartest man in the field, he served as an inspirational mentor to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
During his final years, Sandra Bowling stood as Everett's devoted caregiver. Her love and care provided comfort to him, and he expressed deep gratitude for her presence in his life.
He is survived by two sons, Aaron Kyle (Leslie) of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Ben Kyle (Brandi) of Dexter, Missouri; by his sister, Marsha Feldmann (Tom) of Austin, Texas; by eight grandchildren, Ashleigh Smith, Amber Smith, Garrett Kyle, Tucker Kyle, Hunner Kyle, Anistin Kyle, Lillian Kyle, and Ali Kate; and by six great-grandchildren, Kennadie Hicks, Kamdon Hicks, Karter Hicks, Klyde Hicks, Kleo Hicks, and Greyson Kyle and best lifelong friend Ronnie Smith.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Tiffany Kyle.
Verttle Lee Adams, daughter of the late William Ray Silliman and Agnes Martha Harris Silliman, was born on March 22, 1929, in Vinson, Missouri, and departed this life on January 26, 2024, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 94 years.
Mrs. Adams was a former employee of Elder Manufacturing in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter. She attended Risen Church in Dexter and was a member of the Dexter Elks Lodge.
On May 19, 1947, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to John “Pete” Adams. Mr. Adams preceded her in death on November 3, 2002.
She is survived by two sons, David Adams (Marsha) of Dexter, Missouri, and Gene Adams (Ann) of Fairdealing, Missouri, by her sister, Peggy Bollinger (Doug) of Dexter, Missouri; by two grandsons, Travis Adams (Dana) and Tim Adams (Stephanie); and by six great grandchildren, Kendall, Karsen, Jade, Taylor, Jake, and Austin.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Mike Adams; by two brothers, Bill Silliman, and J. W. Silliman; and by two sisters, Betty Myers, and Beverly Durham.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Preston Owens officiating. Interment will follow the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

Denton Lee Musgrave, son of the late Joe Musgrave and Allie Lambert Musgrave, was born on September 7, 1938, in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on January 26, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 85 years.
Mr. Musgrave was the former owner of Musgrave Appliance Service in Dexter, Missouri, and a resident of Dexter. He was a member of the Missouri National Guard in Dexter for 10 years, a member of New Bethel Church in Dexter, a former Boy Scout Leader, and a member of the Dexter Jaycees, Dexter Elks, and the Missouri Blue Grass Association.
He was first united in marriage to Jo Nell Bennett and to this union two sons were born. He was then united in marriage to Veta Phillips, on August 17, 1985, in Dexter, Missouri. Mrs. Musgrave survives of their home in Dexter.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jay Musgrave and wife Beth of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Kip Musgrave and wife Lisa of Dexter, Missouri; by his stepson, Mike Jordan and wife Cindy of Pacific, Missouri; by three stepdaughters, Karen Pleasant and husband Dennis of Campbell, Missouri, Lesa Parks and husband Bobby of Dexter, Missouri, and Shiela Blunt and husband Jason of Essex, Missouri; by his sister, Pat Eubanks of Springfield, Missouri; and by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Charles James Southard Sr., son of the late Cletus Clifton Southard and Ollie Faye Martin Southard, was born on November 1, 1952, in Kankakee, Illinois, and departed this life on January 26, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 71 years.
Mr. Southard was a Veteran of the United States Army and a resident of Bernie, Missouri. He was a former farmer and mechanic.
On January 12, 1974, in Bloomfield, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Abbott. Mrs. Southard survives of their home in Bernie.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles “Peewee” Southard Jr. and Jimmy Southard both of Bernie, Missouri; by three daughters, Betty Avila-Prado of Piggott, Arkansas, Rose Southard of Malden, Missouri, and Sheila Crenshaw of Glasgow, Kentucky; by his brother, Clifton “Bubba” Southard and wife Peggy of Canalou, Missouri; by two sisters, Carolyn Hughes and husband Robert of Canalou, Missouri, and Hazel Cantrell of Malden, Missouri; and by thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Vicki May Brant, Linda Robinson, and Hetty Harper.

James Edward Cline, son of the late Jerry Prince and Patricia Brown Prince was born on April 6, 1966 in Liberty, Missouri and departed this life on January 25, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 57.
James was a brother to the Pharaohs. He loved music, fishing, and looking for arrowheads. James loved his dog Bella, and spending time with family and friends.
He renewed his wedding vows with Katonna Meese in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
He leaves behind his love, Katonna Cline of Malden, Missouri; his son, James Cody Cline of Bloomfield, Missouri; his sister, Lisa Burgess Schroeder of Columbia, Illinois; three nieces, Jamie Getek, Jessica Burgess, and Tracy Davidson; his god son, Nolan Blevins of Bernie, Missouri; nine great nieces and nephews; the Hurley family, the Craft family, the Meese family, and his many friends and motorcycle brothers, the Pharaohs.
