Venoy Dean Pry, 89, of Dexter, passed away September 26, 2022 at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico, MO. He was born November 20, 1932 in Bloomfield, MO, the son of Prentice and Ella Abernathy Pry.
Dean was a 1953 graduate of Bell City High School. He had worked at Elder Manufacturing Company in Bloomfield and Stovalls Department Store in Dexter. Dean later worked as an independent contractor doing carpentry work until his retirement.
Dean was a great man of faith and attended the United Pentecostal Church.
Dean and Geneva Phillips were united in marriage on February 21, 1953 and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2008. He later married Delphin McDowell Ivy on February 3, 2009.
Survivors include: his wife, Delphi Pry of Mt. Vernon, IL three brothers, Dewey (Janet) Pry of Dexter, Harry (Dorothy) Pry of Cape Girardeau and James (Debbie) Pry of Chapel Hill, NC two sisters, Velva (John) Latham of Cape Girardeau and Melba (Keith) Hancock of Puxico and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
L.G. Ray ‘Bill’ Knight, 87, of Lowndes, passed away peacefully at his home in Lowndes, on September 15, 2022. He was born December 17, 1934 in Gray Ridge to Arthur ‘Ott’ and Marie Knight.
When he was 16, he joined the United States Air Force, and was sent to Korea. After leaving Korea, and the Air Force, he became an over the road truck driver, and drove until he retired in the early 2000’s. He was a lifelong fan of all Missouri sports teams, but the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs held a special place in his heart. He was a member of the Community Church of Christ, in Lowndes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Maxine Gray.
On April 22, 1964, he was united in marriage, to Sandra (Billingsley) Knight, and she survives of the home. Also surviving are four children, Michael (Barbara) Knight, of Perryville, Mo, Michelle (Tim) Rohan, of Zalma, Mo, Mitch (Shelly) Knight, of Lowndes, Mo, and Melissa (Brad) Rohan, of Zalma, Mo. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tiffany (Ebbie) Welker, of Greenbriar, Mo, Rebecca Clark, of Dexter, Mo, Logan Knight, of Greenville, Mo, Brian (Macey) Wilcox, of Puxico, Mo, and Noah and Seth Rohan of Zalma, Mo. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Chesnie Welker, of Greenbriar, Mo, Case Wilcox, of Puxico, Mo, Ava Clark, of Dexter, Mo, Paizley Welker, of Greenbriar, Mo, and Hattie, Colt, and Sterling Wilcox of Puxico, Mo.
Services were held Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Community Church of Christ, in Lowndes, Mo, and interment was in the church cemetery.
James Clarence Arnold, son of the late Paul Arnold and Gladys Shatley Arnold, was born on April 3, 1925, in Dexter, Missouri, and departed this life surrounded by his loved ones and with his faithful dog, GiGi by his side on September 25, 2022, at his residence in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 97 years.
Mr. Arnold was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII and he was the owner of JC Frame and Alignment. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield and a member of the American Legion in Dexter for 73 years. He was a family man, and he enjoyed woodworking, lawn work, and could fix anything.
On November 26, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Genevieve Henderson. Mrs. Arnold preceded him in death on January 10, 2015.
He is survived by his son, Jim Arnold and wife JoAnna of Dexter, Missouri; by his daughter Cathy Chasteen and husband William of Bloomfield, Missouri; by three brothers, Gene Arnold and Larry Arnold both of Dexter, Missouri, and Bob Arnold of Old Monroe, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Travis Qualls and wife Jamie, James Paul Arnold and wife Rebecca, Heather White and husband Joe, and Michael Chasteen and wife Heather; and by ten great-grandchildren.
Other than by his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jamie Arnold.
Visitation will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will then be conducted at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Koerner officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Reginald David Keeling, son of the late Aaron McCluskey and Bertie Atchison Carter was born on February 13, 1958 in Bernie, Missouri and departed this life on September 23, 2022 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 64.
Mr. Keeling worked in residential construction and was a volunteer member of the Gideon Fire Department.
He is survived by three daughters, Cassandra Keeling of Flint, Michigan, Tammy Keeling of San Diego, California and Amy Keeling of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; by two sisters, Connie Hunt of Bernie, Missouri and Madonna Keeling of Bloomfield, Missouri; by five brothers, Terry Carter of Dexter, Missouri, Charles Jerls of Highland, Illinois, Rodger Jerls of Riverside, California, Billy McCluskey and Robert McCluskey both of Flint, Michigan; by his companion, Lisa Jameson of Dexter, Missouri; and by his grandchildren, Meadow, Jaden, Ayden, Rosaline, Adam and Kevin.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Iva McCluskey; and by three brothers, Kim Keeling, Monty McCluskey and Robbie McCluskey.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bernie Cemetery.

Louanna Jean Houchins of Bloomfield, Missouri, daughter of the late James Edward and Dorothy (Plummer) Spradling, was born in Sikeston, Missouri on September 17, 1956, and passed away in Dexter, Missouri at Southeast Hospital on September 22, 2022, at the age of 66.
Louanna lived in the Bloomfield area most of her life. On February 28, 1975, Louanna was united in marriage with Gary Houchins. Louanna was of the Baptist Faith. She loved spending time with family and always put the needs of others above her own. Louanna was a devout Christian and a great friend to everyone that knew her. She enjoyed spending time on her farm watching wildlife and taking care of her animals that she adored.
She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, two sons, Monte (Jaime) Houchins of Bloomfield, Gary (Jessi) Houchins of Puxico; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Tony Spradling of Bloomfield; three sisters, Sharon Robinett, Darlene Smith and Juanita Hays all of Bloomfield. A host of family and friends also survive.
Louanna was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Don Spradling.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held the same day as visitation at 2:00 P.M at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter with Pastor John McCain of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating.
Interment will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
