In Memory of James Lawrence “Larry” Kehoe III, D.O.

James Lawrence “Larry” Kehoe III, D.O., son of the late James Lawrence “Buddy” Kehoe Jr. and Virgina Hackett Kehoe, was born on July 4, 1939, in Sedalia, Missouri, and departed this life on June 16, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 82.

Dr. Kehoe was an engineer with McDonnell Douglas and General Electric before attending medical school at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCU). He opened private practices in Farmington, Perryville, and Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, before moving to Dexter in 2001 and working as an emergency room physician. Dr. Kehoe retired from Dexter Memorial Hospital in 2013 after nearly 40 years practicing medicine.

Dr. Kehoe was united in marriage to Diana Naeger Kehoe on November 7, 1987, in Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. Mrs. Kehoe survives in their home of Dexter, Missouri.

Other survivors include two sons, Andy Kehoe of O’Fallon, MO, and Dr. James Lawrence “Jim” Kehoe IV & wife Becky of Clinton Township, MI; two daughters, Jeanetta Daum & husband Keith of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Leslie Seiter of Dexter, MO; three sisters, Libbie Blaeuer & Dennis Pierman of Lake Ozark, MO, Suzi Aleshire & husband Glen of Moberly, MO, and Jane Phillips & husband Larry of Bloomington, IL; 10 grandchildren, Jamie & wife Julie, Sean, Amy, Andrew, and Adam Kehoe, Madison, Bryar, and Walker Daum, and Alex and Katy Seiter; and many close relatives and friends he dearly loved.

Dr. Kehoe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting and fishing, working on his cars and motorcycles, gardening and cooking.

Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice in Dr. Kehoe’s name.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.
