In Memory of James Anthony (Tony) Gilooly

James Anthony (Tony) Gilooly, son of Cleo and Alma Gilooly was born on November 1, 1943, in Kennett, Missouri and was welcomed by his Lord and Saviour on February 17, 2022 at the age of 78.

Tony was a member of the National Guard when he was a young man. He ran a bakery route for Faye’s Bakery for 18 years. He also owned and worked on rental houses. Tony never met a stranger. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats. He enjoyed vacationing in Branson and the Smokey Mountains. He liked watching old westerns, with Gunsmoke being one of his favorites. He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ for 35 years.

On November 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to Peggy Beaird in Kennett, Missouri. Mrs. Gilooly survives of the home in Dexter.

Other than his wife, Peggy, he is survived by one son, Randy (Rachel) Gilooly of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; one daughter, Carla Gilooly of Byron Center, Michigan and one grandson, Colin (Hanna) Gilooly of Exeter, New Hampshire. He is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Flowers of Dexter, Missouri, Linda Gilooly of Bixby, Oklahoma and two nieces.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:30pm.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on February 20, 2022, at 2:30pm with Jim Faughn officiating.

Interment will follow in Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri.

Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Billie June Hunsaker

Billie June Hunsaker of Dexter, Missouri, daughter of the late Lewis Lee and Daisy Ann (Baker) Edwards born on September 25, 1934 in Goodland, Indiana and passed away February 17, 2022 in Bernie, Missouri at the age of 87 years.  

She lived in Dexter, Missouri for most of her life.  She lived in Essex, Missouri in her younger years.  She was a member of Assembly of First Church of God in Dexter, Missouri.  She loved to sew, cook, read and write stories.  she loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart.   

Billie June married Larry Gene Hunsaker on February 28, 1952 until his passing on January 30, 2020.  

Billie is survived by five sons Bobby Gene Hunsaker of Flint, Michigan, Danny Steven Hunsaker of West Plains, Missouri, Rickey Lee Hunsaker of Wappapello, Missouri, Jeffery (Pamela) Hunsaker of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Mark (Michele) Hunsaker of Perryville, Missouri; three daughters Charlotte Ann Hunsaker of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Brenda (Sunny) Alcoser of San Antonio, Texas and Lorie Jean Hunsaker of Jacksonville, Florida; twenty-nine grandchildren Tina, Christopher, Bobby, Kyle, Jason, Roxanne, Brad, Alex, Jennifer, Clara, Mary, Emily, Heath, Matthew, Megan, Amanda, Kristen, Rhe’a Connie Nic, Dalton Scott, April Diane, Brandon, Sam, Timothy, Sarah, Isaiah, Johnny, Natalie, Audrey and Jacob; twenty-eight great grandchildren Tristian, Matthew, Kaytlyn, Rylee, Bradley, John, Dexter, Simon, Oliver, Lane, Sebastian, Symphony, Vicktoria, Verrick, Misha, Brantley, Eli, Mya, Blaize, Paxton, Xavier, Trystan, Maliah, Laylen, Jazzlyn, Holt, Emersyn and Millie; two great great grandchildren Saylor and Bradlee;  one brother Charles (Ann) Edwards of Bloomfield, Missouri .  She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Daisy Edwards; her husband Larry Gene Hunsaker; one daughter Connie Darlene; one son Terry Wayne; three sisters Hazel, Pansy and Ruth; one brother Robert Edwards; and three grandchildren Daniel, Theresa and Hannah.  A host of family and friends also survive.   

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 22, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with Brother Leonard officiating along with DeArvin assisting and Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.

Interment will be held at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri.

Sharon R Strauser of Dexter, Missouri born on December 28, 1943 passed away on February 19, 2022 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 78 years. 

She lived in Dexter, Missouri for most of her life.  Sharon enjoyed to work outside planting flowers and raising cattle.  

Sharon was married to Lendel Strauser on July 01, 1967 near Bloomfield, Missouri until his passing on May 05, 2016.  

Sharon is survived by one sister and a very dear friend Betty Dugger. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lendel Strauser; and one son Denis Strauser.   A host of family and friends also survive.   

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 22, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.  

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 22, 2022 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with Brother Charlie Robertson of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating and Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.

Interment will be held at the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri

In Memory of Betty Florence Kitterman

Betty Florence Kitterman, daughter of the late Chester Olen Pickard and Velma Mae Simmons Pickard, was born on June 21, 1941, in Iron City, Tennessee, and departed this life on February 16, 2022, at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 80 years.

Mrs. Kitterman was a former medical secretary. She attended the Christian Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and was a resident of Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by her son, Donald Kitterman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by three daughters, Julia Emery of St. Charles, Missouri, Nancee Mareschel of St. Peters, Missouri, and Rebecca Johnson of Hillsboro, Missouri; by her brother, Donald Pickard of Marble Hill, Missouri; and by her sister, Shelby Palmatory of Jackson, Missouri; and by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester Pickard, Billy Pickard, and David Pickard; and by her sister, Willodean Kettering.

Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A memorial service will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie is assisting with arrangements.

In Memory of Judith Elaine Hankins

Judith Elaine Hankins of Morehouse,  Missouri, daughter of the late James Charles and Velva (Little) Hankins born on June 14, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri passed away on February 10, 2022 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 66 years.  

She lived in the Morehouse area most of her life. Judith enjoyed reading and collecting books. She worked for the Morehouse Public Library.

Judith is survived by three brothers Ron Hankins of Morehouse, Missouri; Jim Hankins of House Springs, Missouri and Jeff Hankins of Morehouse, Missouri, one sister Robie Kay Hankins and husband Fadhel Alkhazaly of Pevely, Missouri; one niece Tyanna Putnam of Canalou, Missouri; one great nephew Collin, two great nieces Kyleigh and Katelyn; and five great great nephews and nieces;  two close friends Robin Ogden and Kenzie Ogden of Morehouse, Missouri. As well as a host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents by her parents James and Velva Hankins; two brothers Don Hankins and Gary Hankins. 

Graveside service will be held Saturday February 19, 11:00 A.M. at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter Missouri with Brother Charlie Robertson officiating with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
