Phillip Lloyd Short, son of the late Odes Short and Mildred Luermann Short, was born on April 23, 1932, in Success, Arkansas, and departed this life on February 11, 2022, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Arkansas, at the age of 89 years.
Mr. Short was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a former teacher and retired from Neelyville Schools where he taught Geography and Social Studies and he was a former farmer. He was an active member of the First General Baptist Church in Corning, Arkansas, and a resident of Neelyville, Missouri.
On October 19, 1958, in Essex, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Opal Coffey. Mrs. Short survives of their home in Neelyville.
In addition to his wife Opal, he is survived by his daughter, Renee Ritter and husband Steve of Williford, Arkansas; by his brother, Kenneth Short and wife Dottie of Houston, Texas; by two sisters, Shirley Schif of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Wanda Wyatt and husband Wendell of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; by his sister-in-law, Jean Isbell and husband Bob of Dexter, Missouri; by his brother-in-law, Lewis “Bud” Coffey of Dexter, Missouri; and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brad Short; by his brother, Wayne Short, and by his brother-in-law, Charles Schif.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Robinson (Phillip’s cousin) officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Max Ray Summers, son of the late JB Summers and Ora Lee Elder Summers, was born on September 24, 1938, in Blytheville, Arkansas, and departed this life on February 9, 2022, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 83 years.
Mr. Summers was a former employee of Purolator, working in quality control. He attended the Risen Church in Dexter, Missouri and was a resident of Dexter.
On March 16, 1979, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sharon Phillips. Mrs. Summers survives of their home in Dexter.
In addition to his wife Sharon, he is survived by his son, Kevin Doug Summers of Dexter, Missouri; by his sister, Connie Avery of Somerset, Kentucky; and by three grandchildren, Justin Summers, Matthew Summers, and Candice Schroder.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Lonnie Summers, Coye Summers, Bill Summers, James Buford, and Robert Pelcher; and by his sister, Joyce Summers.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Travis Lambert officiating.

Cora Bell Rinehart Kunkle, daughter of the late Claude Coleman Rinehart and Jewell Mae Atkinson Rinehart, was born on November 8, 1935, in Thornburg Arkansas, and departed this life on February 2, 2022, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 86 years.
Mrs. Kunkle had worked in the produce department for Town and Country Supermarket in Bloomfield, Missouri and was a resident of Bloomfield.
On February 6, 1953, in Wardell, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Roy Gilmore Kunkle Jr. Mr. Kunkle preceded her in death on November 5, 2012.
She is survived by her son, Roy G. Kunkle III and wife Dawn of Fernandina Beach, Florida; by two daughters, Linda D. Kunkle of Bloomfield, Missouri and Jo Ann Lewellen and husband Richard of Dexter, Missouri; by her twin sister, Lillie Denny; by two brothers, Gerald Rinehart and JE Rinehart; and by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Claudia M. Glaser and Marsha K. Salisbury; by three brothers, Coleman, Bob, and Max; and by her twin sisters, Sadie and Sula.
No services are currently planned. Interment will be in the North Antioch Cemetery in rural Bloomfield, Missouri

Ella Vivian Colwell, daughter of the late Raymond DeJournett and Vivian Swan Rogers was born on July 18, 1929, in Clines Island, Missouri, and departed this life on February 5, 2022, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.
Mrs. Colwell was a former employee of International Hat Company in St. Louis, Missouri and was a resident of Bernie, Missouri.
On October 15, 1972, in St. Louis Missouri she was united in marriage to Robert Colwell. Mr. Colwell preceded her in death on April 21, 1981.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Wooldridge (Debbie) of Imperial, Missouri, James Wooldridge (Cheryl) of Antonio, Missouri, and Bobby Wooldridge (Sheryl) of Bernie, Missouri; by her brother, Larry Rogers of Dexter; by two sisters; Doris Zillich of Davison, Michigan, and Bertha Johnson of Bloomfield, Missouri; and by five grandchildren, thirteen great - grandchildren and by two great-great grandchildren.
Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son Charles Wooldridge; two brothers, JD DeJournett, and Raymond DeJournett; by one sister, Ettie Mayo; by one grandchild, Darius Wooldridge; one great-grandchild, Sky Wooldridge; and by one daughter- in- law; Linda Wooldridge.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral Services will then be conducted on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Travis Lambert officiating.

Abigail (Abby) Regina Jones of Wappapello, Missouri daughter of Ronald and Susan Jones Born on September 03, 2001 in Warrensburg, Missouri passed from this life on January 30, 2022 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 20 years, 3 months and 31 days.
Abby had lived in Wappapello, Missouri since January of 2010. She has also lived in other places like Warrensburg, Missouri, Fairbanks, Alaska and Cheyene, Wyoming. Abby attended and graduated from Puxico High School. She was a member of the Puxico marching band and the Perfect 10 Improv/Theater Program. She was also a member of the Missouri S and T Air Force ROTC. She was of the Catholic Faith.
Abby is survived by her parents Ronald Franklin and Susan Alonzo (Morley) Jones of Wappapello, Missouri; her maternal grandparents William and Marie Velma Morley; one uncle Marcel (Amber) Jones; two cousins Daphny Jones and Justin Hayes; her boyfriend Luke Goeckner. Abby was proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents Dr. Floyd and Regina Jones and one uncle Mike Jones. A host of family and friends also survive.
