Several DHS Track & Field Athletes Qualify for the MSHSAA State Championship

Several Dexter High School Track and Field athletes have qualified for the MSHSAA Class 3 State Championships to be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City.

Twelve athletes qualified in eight events. Also Josh Alday, Gabby Brown and the boys 4x800 relay team broke school records on Saturday, May 22nd at the sectional meet in Park Hills Central.

Alday broke his own record with a first-place finish of 50.97 meters in the javelin throw.

Brown broke records in the 800- meter and 1600 meter runs. She won the 1600 in 5:28.43 and was second in the 800 in 2:24.07.

Clayton Bell, Christopher Stone, Carter Dorton and Gavin Cartwright with a third-place finish in the 4x800 in 8:30.64.

Cartwright teamed with RJ Farmer, Aniston Kyle and Carter Dorton to place third in the 4x400 in 3:35.56, and he placed fourth in the high jump (1.78 meters).

Brown teamed with Avery Neely, Allison Turnbo and Dulcie Pullen to place fourth in the girls 4x800 (4:23.02).

Aniston Kyle qualified in a second event, finishing fourth in the 400 with a time of 52.42.
