Dexter Schools to Close on Election Day - AMI Day

Dexter, MO - On November 3rd, the Dexter school district will be closed to students.

Students will implement alternative methods of instruction (AMI). Information from your school building regarding AMI will be available. While students will not be on campus, they are responsible for activities or assignments from home.

Dexter Schools has made this decision because November 3rd is the general Election Day. The Bearcat Event Center will be used as a polling location.  They could have up to 8,000 people visit the campus from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for voting.

Because it is a Presidential Election, a large turnout is anticipated. The school has concerns in regards to traffic, parking, and additional people on the Bearcat campus. Safety of of the students is a top priority.

If you have further questions, please contact the school or the administrative office.
