In Memory of Billy B. Reynolds

Billy B. Reynolds, son of the late Ivond L. Reynolds and Dorotha Mae Fisher Reynolds, was born on May 31, 1943 in Heber Springs, Arkansas and departed this life on March 12, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 76 years.

Mr. Reynolds was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a former Data Service Technician for ACXIOM Corporation in Conway, Arkansas.   He was a manager for manned space flight support operations for the Apollo XI Mission first moon landing flight.  He was a member of the American Radio Relay League and the National HAM Radio Association, call sign KK5T.

He is survived by his daughters, Sheri R. Eaton of Houma, Louisiana and Teri R. Keller of Ama, Louisiana; and by three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; and his sister.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

In Memory of Bruce D. Ivy

Bruce D. Ivy, son of Leatrice Joy Fox Ivy Swinger and the late Frank Eugene Ivy, was born on July 12, 1951 in Bloomfield, Missouri and departed this life on March 23, 2020 at Winchester Nursing in Bernie, Missouri at the age of 68 years.

Mr. Ivy is a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.  He was a former self-employed contractor; and he was a former truck driver for Helena and Rhinehart Farms.  He was a member of the Clines Island General Baptist Church and a resident of Bloomfield.

On February 14, 1992, in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Mae Marie Prichard Stevens.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Ivy of Bloomfield; by his mother Joy Swinger of Dexter; by three step-daughters, Cathy Becker of Dexter, Julie Holden of Dexter, and Lisa Fulkerson of Dexter; by six grandchildren, Chelsea McMunn, Alex Becker, Tyler Holden, Chance Holden, Haley Robey, and Matt Fulkerson; and by nine great-grandchildren, Carly McMunn, Lane McMunn, Crosby Becker, Kaia Becker, Ashton Holden, Reece Holden, Palmer Holden, Quinn Holden, and Peyton Robey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Ivy; and by his brother, Phillip Ivy.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

In Memory of Thomas Taylor Chamberlain Sr.

Thomas Taylor Chamberlain Sr., son of the late Everett Lee Chamberlain and Wanda Lee Taylor Chamberlain, was born on May 1, 1959 in Hayti, Missouri and departed this life on March 22, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 60 years.

Mr. Chamberlain was a former carpenter.  He attended First Baptist Church in Dexter.

On November 16, 2001, in New Madrid, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Ann Dockins.  Mrs. Chamberlain survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kris Chamberlain of Dexter and Thomas Chamberlain Jr. of Dexter, by two daughters, Shannon Ridings of Marble Hill and Lexi Chamberlain of Dexter; by two brothers, Tim Chamberlain of Dexter and Stephen Chamberlain of Van Buren; and by four grandchildren, Bailey Chamberlain, Drew Chamberlain, Presley Ridings and Schell Ridings.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date.

In Memory of Norma Jean Jackson

Norma Jean Jackson, daughter of the late Chester G. Walters and Essie Lee Wicks Walters, was born on January 30, 1941 in Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on March 18, 2020 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter at the age of 79 years.

Mrs. Jackson was the former owner of Jackson’s Florist and Jackson’s Monuments in Dexter, Missouri, where she was a floral designer and memorialist.  She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter, since 1983 and a resident of Dexter.  She was a past president and treasurer for the Altrussa Club.  She was a member of the Jaycee wives and received an award for outstanding Jaycee wife.

On July 10, 1958, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Herman “Jack” Jackson.  Mr. Jackson preceded her in death on April 27, 2017.

She is survived by her daughter, Cerendia L. Woollums and husband Ray of Dexter; by her son, Keith G. Jackson of Las Vegas, Nevada; by two sisters, Elnora Bernard and husband Jim of Reedsville, Ohio and Janice Allen and husband Dennis of Maple Park, Illinois; by two granddaughters, Jessica Brown and husband Brad of Dexter and Ashley Miller and husband Landon of Dexter; and by two great-grandchildren, Levi James Miller and Reagan Delaney Brown.

A private, family only, funeral service will be conducted at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery.

In Memory of Donald Edward Maddox

Donald Edward Maddox, son of the late Clarence Maddox and Sylvia Umfleet Maddox, was born on July 17, 1937 in Dudley, Missouri and departed this life on March 16, 2020 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Maddox was a former owner and operator of B&M fencing, landscaping, and nursery, for over 30 years.  He was a teamster truck driver, for several years and he was a member of the Sugar Tree General Baptist Church.

On July 9, 1955, in Hernando, Mississippi, he was united in marriage to Gevauna Voss.  Mrs. Maddox survives of their home in Dexter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bob Maddox of Dexter and Lanny Maddox of Dexter; by his daughter, Diana Miller and husband Michael of Dexter; by four sisters, Glenda Higgins of Springs, Texas, Linda Pruden of St. Ann, Missouri, Pat Rusch of Barnhart, Missouri, Peggy Leasure of Arnold, Missouri; by six grandchildren, Julie Hughes, Natalie Jackson, Steven Maddox, Jeffery Maddox, Kelly Rutledge, and Christy Jackson; and by ten great-grandchildren, Skylar Maddox, Blake Maddox, Logan Maddox, Tanner Maddox, Jasmine Rutledge, Jamie Rutledge, Hunter Rutledge, Addison Rutledge, Alyssa Morrison and Mya Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his sister, Dorothy Maze; and by his great-grandson, Chase Morrison.

Friends may call at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
