In Memory of Paul Fitzpatrick

Paul Fitzpatrick, of Dexter, son of the late Everett and Vera Fitzpatrick, was born in Malden, Missouri on July 26, 1949 and died at his home in Dexter, Missouri on November 3, 2019 at the age of 70 years.

Paul had lived in Malden and Dexter all his life.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in Vietnam.  After leaving the military, Paul went into law enforcement.  He served his first two years on the Malden Police Department.  In 1979, Paul accepted a position on the Dexter Police Department and moved his family to Dexter, Missouri.  After 25 years of combined law enforcement, Paul retired from the Dexter Police Department.  He loved his family, playing golf and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

On February 26, 1972, he married Judy Ann Thompson of Malden.  They had one son, Wesley Paul Fitzpatrick. 

Surviving him are his wife, Judy Ann Fitzpatrick; his son Wesley and his wife Betty Fitzpatrick of Jackson, Missouri; three granddaughters, Paige, Keeley and Charleigh Fitzpatrick and one great-grandson, Kellin Fitzpatrick, all of Jackson, Missouri; two sisters, Connie Jaspering of Washington, Iowa and Marilyn Fitzpatrick of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two brothers, John Fitzpatrick of Warsaw, Missouri and Jeff Fitzpatrick of Dexter, Missouri; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arley and Carol Fitzpatrick.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. 

Graveside services will then be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
