In Memory of Amy Green

Amy Green, daughter of the late Orlie Owens and Esley Belle Stephens Owens was born in Bernie, Missouri on January 20, 1928 and departed this life in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on November 2, 2019 at the age of 91.

Mrs. Green had worked in Civil Service for the United States Air Force in Tokyo, Japan, she was a former secretary to Veryl Riddle Law Firm and later she was Executive Secretary for First National Bank of Malden, Missouri. She was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church for over 57 years and was a resident of Rural Campbell, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Wayne Scott Green in Campbell, Missouri on May 26, 1962. Mr. Green preceded his wife in death on August 9, 1990.

Other survivors include, David Carson & wife Loretta, Wayne Green Jr. & wife Ann and Larry Green & wife Sherry all of Campbell, Missouri; by two daughters, Mary Ann Howell & husband Alan of Campbell, Missouri, Linda Rawlings & husband Donnie of Batesville, Arkansas; by one Son-in-Law, Willie Christian of Campbell, Missouri; by one brother, Jerry Owens of Bernie, Missouri’ by one sister, Theetta Cokley of Bernie, Missouri; by 16 grandchildren, Bradley Carson, Amanda Ketchum, Ashley Hays, Tayler Fitts, Garrett McLane, Alyssa Burkman, G.W. Howell, Mitchell Howell, Ashton Howell, Dean Rawlings, Jacob Rawlings, Mic Rawlings, Stephanie Farmer, Cindy Sparks, Aaron Green and Lori Little; by Twenty Two Great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by one daughter, Karen Christian; by her daughter-in-law, Cindy Riddle Green; by three brothers, Bill Owens, Reuben Owens and Buford Owens; by one sister, Patricia Johnson; by one grandson, Justin Green.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in BERNIE, Missouri on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.

Funeral services will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bryon Johnson & Rev. Bob Komer officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Cindy Green Memorial Scholarship Fund.

In Memory of Doris J. Green

Doris J. Green, daughter of the late Thomas Findley and Sophia Howard Findley, was born on June 26, 1927 in Dudley, Missouri and departed this life on October 31, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 92 years.

Mrs. Green was a former Examiner for Elder Manufacturing in Dexter, Missouri.  She was a member of the Dudley Baptist Church, a member of the Dudley City Council and a resident of Dudley.

On February 24, 1946, in Dudley, she was united in marriage to Marechal E. “Toby” Green.  Mr. Green preceded her in death on September 12, 1991. 

She is survived by her daughter, Gigi Manees and husband Freddy of Dudley, Missouri; by two sons, Tommy Green and wife Wanda of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jimmy Green and wife Tammy of Dudley, Missouri; by four grandchildren; and by six great-grandchildren.

Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by her half-brother, Harold Gallaspey and her half-sister, Dorothy Ripley.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Dudley Community Center on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

A Graveside services will then be conducted at Dudley Cemetery on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Chris Collier officiating.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

In Memory of Jim Buck Mason

Jim Buck Mason, son of the late Lawrence Eugene Mason and Edith Opal Fields Mason, was born in Bernie, Missouri on January 28, 1946 and departed this life at his residence in Bernie, Missouri on October 30, 2019 at the age of 73.

Mr. Mason was a retired Truck Driver.  After his retirement he was a Small Engine Repairman for the Bernie area. He was a member of Sugar Tree General Baptist Church of Rural Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Sue Trout in Broseley, Missouri on December 25, 1966.  Mrs. Mason preceded her husband in death on June 2, 2003.

Other survivors include, two sons Danny Mason of Bernie, Missouri and James Calvert of Covington, Louisiana; by one daughter, Tracy Stender of Powe, Missouri; by one sister-in-law, Pat McCollough of Dudley, Missouri; by one brother, L.C. Mason of Bernie, Missouri; by three sisters, Anglee Barnes of Bernie, Missouri, Wilma Burch of Wappapello, Missouri and Linda O’Daniell of Bloomfield, Missouri;by  one brother-in-law, Kenny Trout of Bernie;  by Thirteen Grandchildren and Numerous Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death other than by his parents and his wife, by one brother, Gene Mason; by four sisters, Mildred Hampton, Eva Tipton, Alma Poespeshil and Nina Margaret Hartle.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 2:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Ogelvie officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.

In Memory of Kaye Francis Johnson

Kaye Francis Johnson, age 89, passed away October 29, 2019 at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born August 8, 1930 in Double Springs, Alabama, daughter of the late Chester Seymour and Lecey Baldy Seymour.  She was a member of Morley Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, and was an avid reader.

On February 20, 1954 in Hernando, Mississippi, she married Don Johnson, he survives of the home in Morley.

Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David "Chip" & Cheryl Johnson of Morley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Leah & Wally Somers of Harvel, Missouri, Donna & Mike Watkins of Sikeston, and Leslie & Steve Rhyne of Carterville, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Johnson of Wyatt, Missouri; special friend, Gary Mize of Morley; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Jimmy Johnson, Ricky Johnson, and Danny Johnson; five brothers; five sisters; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.  There will be a private family service.  The Rev. Billy Joe Gadberry will be officiating and Bro. David Thompson of Morley Baptist Church will be assisting.

Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley, Missouri.

Memorial donations may be sent to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

Millie P. Cullum, daughter of the late Fred Samuel Burns and Opal Lee Freeman Roberts was born in East Prairie, Missouri on May 28, 1955 and departed this life at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on October 28, 2019  at the age of 64.

Mrs. Cullum worked at VNA as a Nurse’s Aide until her retirement.  She was of Baptist Faith.

She was united in marriage to Michael Lee Cullum in Parma, Missouri on February 1, 1986.  Mr. Cullum survives in their home in Parma.

Other Survivors include two sons, Jerry Ray Wilbanks of Prescott, Arkansas and Jessie Franklin Wilbanks of Freeman, Missouri; by two daughters, Christina Hurst of Bernie, Missouri and Patricia Spear of Mont Rose, Missouri; by one brother, Johnny C. Burns of Clinton, Missouri; by two sisters, Phyllis D. Burns of Parma, Missouri and Edna M. Eaton of Morehouse, Missouri; by Eleven Grandchildren and Two Great-Grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents, by four brothers, Billy Burns, David Burns, Tommy Burns and Donald Burns.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday afternoon, November 1, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Matthew Brooks officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery
