In Memory of Betty Jo Lindley

Betty Jo Lindley, daughter of the late Earl Wood and Cleo Malin Wood, was born on May 20, 1942 in Flint, Michigan and departed this life on September 11, 2019 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 77 years.

Mrs. Lindley was a hairdresser for many years and she had worked in the lunch department for Rockwood schools.  She was a member of the Bernie United Methodist Church and a resident of Bernie, Missouri.

On February 24, 1962, in Parma, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Melton Douglas Lindley.  Mr. Lindley preceded her in death on August 8, 2011.

She is survived by two sisters, Donna Young and husband Glen of Dexter and Barbara Spitzer and husband William of Bernie; by two sisters-in-law, Carrol Lindley of Bernie and Barbara Hohl and husband Kenneth of St. Louis; and by her brother-in-law, Jim Lindley of Parma.  She was a dear aunt, cousin and friend and will be missed by many.

Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Wood.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the Bernie United Methodist Church on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at the Bernie United Methodist Church on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jayne Markin officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
