Doris Dell Glass, daughter of the late August John Fred Mekan and Ollie Bell Grimm Mekan, was born in Dexter, Missouri on May 31, 1936 and departed this life at her residence in Bernie, Missouri on October 14, 2018 at the age of 82.

Mrs. Glass worked at Brown Shoe Company in Bernie and later at MO Industries of Dexter.  She attended First Assembly of God Church in Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Carl Gene Glass in June of 1954 at Bernie, Missouri.  Mr. Glass preceded his wife in death on April 28, 1988.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Don Glass of Bell City, Missouri, Carlin Junior Glass and Timmy Lee Glass both of Bernie, Missouri; by four daughters, Sheila Ann Morris of Bernie, Sherry Jean Glass of Bernie, Terry Lynn Borders of Catron, and Carla Ruth Glass of Bernie; by three brothers, Doyle Mekan of Arnold, Missouri, Donald Mekan of St. Charles, Missouri and Gene Mekan of Bernie; by two sisters, Vivian Aungst and Wanda Stephens both of the state of Arizona;  by ten Grandchildren and thirteen Great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband, by one son, Jimmy Dale Glass; by two brothers, Randy Mekan and August Mekan; by two granddaughters, Kamie Lynn Glass and Heather Michelle Morris.

Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.   Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on October 17, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.  Rev. Joey Ruth officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.  Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
