In Memory of Ella Malissa Green
Ella Malissa Green passed away on August 26, 2018 in Dexter, Missouri at her residence. Malissa was born in Corning, Arkansas on February 19, 1921. She was 97 years old. She was the daughter of Frances M Green and Carrie (Lancaster) Green. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Eldon R. Green of Wynne, Arkansas, two sisters, Nellie Mae (Almer) Watson of Corning, and Mary C. (Vernon) Watson of Peoria, Illinois. 

Malissa never married and had no children except the hundreds of students that she loved and taught.

She is survived by many Nieces and Nephews that love her.

Malissa began her education in the Corning grade school, graduated from Corning High, class of 1939 and concluded with a Masters degree from Arkansas State University.

She was a teacher from over 40 years, starting in White School, a two room, grade school in Rural Corning (six miles east). She taught at other schools in Arkansas and Missouri, retiring in 1981 from Dexter’s Central Grade School. She was a long-time member of the Dexter Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Her main focus in life was Teaching, her Lord and her Church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dexter.

Services will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo with Rev. Mark Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on August 28, 2018 at the funeral home, with services immediately following.

Burial will be in Corning Cemetery in Corning, Arkansas.
