Dexter Police Department Press Release Regarding Recent Murder

On June 28, 2018 the Dexter Police Department activated the Stoddard County  Major Case Squad regarding a suspicious death at 1117 N. Mulberry in Dexter, Missouri.  The deceased was identified as Jimmy Lynn Casey, 66 Y/O white/male of Dexter.

An autopsy was conducted on Friday, June 29, 2018 and determined Jimmy Casey suffered multiple stab wounds and succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation a person of interest was developed and law enforcement began searching for the subject.  The subject had fled the area and Law Enforcement along with Social Media began searching for the subject.

the subject traveled out of state to evade Law Enforcement.  With the help of Pueblo, Colorado Police Department, the person of interest was located in their jurisdiction.

Dexter officers began working with Pueblo, Colorado locating and identifying the person of interest.

On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, a Dexter Detective and an Investigator with the Missouri Highway Patrol responded to Pueblo Colorado and located the subject.  The subject was interviewed, and admitted to killing Jimmy Casey.  The subject admitted to stabbing Casey and staging a burglary.  The subject admitted to being transported to CO to evade Law Enforcement.

There is an active warrant for Joshua J. Koonce, 31 Y/O, white/male, Dexter resident.

Warrant information = Count 1 - Murder 2nd Degree - Class A Felony and Count 2 - Armed Criminal Action - Unclassified Felony

• Count II - Armed Criminal Action - Unclassified Felony

• Bond $500,000.00 Cash only

• Stoddard County Warrant

Joshua is currently in Pueblo CO awaiting extradition to Stoddard County MO.

Dexter, Missouri - The City of Dexter will be working on a water main leak near the 200 block of East Business 60 tonight, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 beginning at 9 p.m. through the morning hours.

"We would like people to use an alternate route if possible while we have men out their working tonight," commented Mark Stidham, City Administrator.

The location of the repairs is between N. Poplar Street and Walnut Street.  Vehicles will be detoured during that time.

Lenexa Police Dept Issues Amber Alert in Missouri
**AMBER ALERT**

"We are seeking public assistance in locating a missing juvenile."

On July 4, 2018, at around 1:00 P.M., the juvenile was seen leaving her residence near 77th and Quivira in Lenexa. The juvenile told a parent that she was walking to Oak Park Mall at 95th St. and Quivira in Overland Park. The juvenile was seen leaving her residence in the company of a 22 year old male.

On July 4, 2018 at approximately 4:00 P.M., the juvenile and adult male were seen at the Greyhound Bus Station ticket counter in Kansas City, MO. It is believed that the juvenile and adult male took a Greyhound bus from Kansas City to the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN area later in the evening on July 4.

Suspect: Dechon White, black male, 22 years old. Last seen wearing a black t-shirt and unknown pants. White is approximately 6’00’’ tall and 250 lbs, with a large “afro” style hairdo that is dyed orange. White is also known to pull his hair back into a short ponytail.
