Ben Franklin's to Have Final Goodbye on June 20th

Dexter, Missouri - Weber’s Ben Franklin has been in business in downtown Dexter for 109 years. One of the oldest business in our community.
It began in 1909 as Weber’s Variety Store, and joined the Ben Franklin franchise in 1930.
The craft store is owned by Joe Weber, and due to his declining health the store will close by the end of June 2018. The family has decided to sell the building as well and are hoping another business will purchase the building.
You can always see one smiling face each day and she will be missed greatly! Donna West manages the business and has been employed by the store for over thirty years, since she graduated high school. She will retire this month as well.
Even though Ben Franklin is now considered a craft store, remnants of the variety store past still remain. Toys, puzzles, greeting cards, kitchen accessories, gift items, and candy continue to be part of Weber’s merchandise mix.
Weber’s Ben Franklin is located at 31 East Stoddard Street in Dexter and is open 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Saturday until June 23rd. At this time 75% off sales are continued and a Final Goodbye is planned on Wednesday, June 20th from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Cookies and punch will be served.
Please stop in and show how grateful our community is to the Weber family for over 100 years. They will truly be missed!!

National Title & Escrow Completes Acquisition of County Wide Abstract & Title Company

Dexter, Missouri - National Title & Escrow is excited to announce that its presence in Dexter, Missouri, is now strengthened by the asset acquisition of County Wide Abstract & Title Company, which has been operating in Stoddard County since 1972.

The transaction gives National Title more resources and flexibility to better serve current and future clients who have real estate needs in the surrounding area as well. The County Wide Abstract & Title physical location in Dexter is not included in the acquisition.

49th Annual Perkins Volunteer Fire Dept. Fish & Chicken Dinner Fundraiser

Perkins, Missouri - The 49th Annual Fish and Chicken Dinner fundraiser will be held at the Perkins Volunteer Fire Department. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
There will also be an auction beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Raffle Tickets are $1.00 each or 7 for $5.00 or 15 for $10.
Prizes are 1st - $500, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $100.
Join the Perkins Volunteer Fire Department and raise money for their cause.

Local Teen Elected to Missouri State 4-H Council

Essex, Missouri - Laura Stickles of Essex recently returned from Columbia where she was elected as a Regional Representative to the Missouri State 4-H Council. The election took place as part of the 72nd annual State 4-H Congress, May 30 – June 1, which was attended by almost 200 Missouri teens.
The State 4-H Council is a group of teens who represent the voice of youth for Missouri 4-H, serving as mentors, ambassadors, and playing a major role in statewide 4-H events. 4-H is the youth development arm of MU Extension. Last year around 22,000 Missouri children and youth participated in a 4-H club, over 25,000 participated in a school program, and over 183,000 participated in a 4-H special interest program.

American Legion to Host Monday Night Dance

Dexter, Missouri - Want a night out? Need some time to decompress from life's daily grind? The Dexter American Legion is having a Monday Night Dance for the community!
Each Monday in June starting June 4th from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the American Legion across from East Park! Entry Fee is $2.00 and there will be music and concessions.
Please join them and have an evening of fun and laughter! Show everyone your dance moves too!!
