Gibson - Turner Wedding Announcement

Gibson - Turner Wedding Announcement

Sam and Samantha met four years ago when they found out they would be serving as Missouri State FFA Officers together. Sam first introduced himself to Samantha through a message on Facebook. The two discussed their similar names and how it may be difficult to keep track of which “Sam" someone is referring to. After sharing some common interests, the two instantly knew they would be friends.

The two were repeatedly paired in the same group for a number of FFA activities, and as the year went on their friendship continued to grow. The frequent FFA pairings made for lots of laughs, inside jokes and memories that will last a lifetime. Looking back, the experience of being teammates is something the couple will cherish forever.

After their state officer year, Sam worked up the courage to ask Samantha on a date. While Samantha was very flattered and really liked Sam, she thought dating would ruin their friendship. The two spent the next few months in an awkward “friend zone" phase.

It wasn’t until the two ended up working together behind the scenes at the Missouri FFA Convention, that sparks began to fly. While the two thought they were hiding their affection for one another, their teammates and friends noticed the connection instantly. After their time at the convention, Sam worked up the courage yet again to ask Samantha on a date. Being the hopeless romantic that he is, Sam brought Samantha a letter, paired with a single rose, asking her to go on a date with him. Blushing, Samantha said yes to one of her dearest friends and the rest is history.

After dating for a year and a half, Sam got down on one knee to ask the love of his life to marry him. Sam proposed while Samantha’s family was getting family pictures taken on their family farm, capturing the memorable moment between the couple. Happily, Sam and Samantha are now asking their friends and family to join them in celebrating their love this November.

Sam and Samantha will be married on November 26, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbia, Missouri.

Congratulations!
