In Memory of Edward Pride Alsup
Edward Pride Alsup, son of the late Cecil Alsup and Alice Davis Alsup was born on January 28, 1920 in Athens, Alabama and departed this life on November 18, 2017 at the SoutheastHealth of Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 97.

Mr. Alsup was a member of the First Church of God and was a resident of Dexter.  He worked as a farmer and was retired from Brown Shoe Factory.

On December 28, 1939 he was united in marriage to Grace Stanford in Charleston, Missouri.  Mrs. Alsup preceded him in death on March 16, 1999.

He is survived by two sons, James Alsup of Munford, Tennessee and Kenneth Alsup of Dexter; by one daughter, Doris McClellan of Dexter; by three brothers, Royce Alsup of Decatur, Alabama, J.W. Alsup of Dexter and Don Alsup of Portland, Oregon; by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Alsup and by one sister, Etha Mae Alsup.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Pastor Leonard Madigan officiating.
