In Loving Memory of Christopher Cokley

Christopher D. Coley, son of Stephanie Cokley was born on May 9, 1985 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and departed this life at the St. Louis University Hospital on October 26, 2017 from complications of liver disease. Chris was 32 years old.

Survivors include his mother, Stephanie of St. Louis, MO; his grandmother Theetta Cokley of Bernie, MO; two uncles, James Cokley of Clarkston, Michigan, and Charles (Dan) Cokley of Portland, Oregon.; one aunt, Karen Burner of Bernie, MO; one uncle who was more like a father, Karen's husband Clifford Burner of Bernie and their son Shad Burner, more like a brother from Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Cokley of Bernie, one aunt, Loretta Dodd, formerly of Bernie and one uncle, Orlie (Ed) Cokley, formerly of Dayton, Ohio and so many other relatives spread throughout, too many to mention.

Chris was a 2003 graduate of Bernie High School.  After graduation, he moved to Oklahoma City, where he worked as a customer service representative for a large satellite cable company.  Chris joined the U.S. Air Force for one tour of duty and then moved to St. Louis in 2008, where he remained until his death.

Chris enjoyed a simple life, filled with writing, listening to music, reading, gaming and was a fan or all sports.

Chris was an official organ/tissue donor.  In death, his life could go on for many.

There will be no services as Chris's remains will be cremated so he can rest with his relatives at the Bernie Cemetery and spread throughout the soils of the many locations he loved.

Any memorials should be made to your organization of choice that focuses on curing alcoholism or possibly an individual you may know that is currently battling this terrible disease.
