Stoddard County, Missouri - Brad Jarrell was sworn into office by Circuit Judge Rob Mayer on Friday, September 29, 2017 in the courtroom at the Justice Center as a new Associate Judge.
Jarrell was appointed by Gov. Eric Greitens to finish the term of Judge Steve Mitchell who retired in early September.
He used his grandfather's Bible for the ceremony which was attended by several friends and family.

Dexter, Missouri - The First United Methodist Church Men's Chili Dinner will be served on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
It's a pre-game tradition!!! Grab a bowl of their world famous chili or vegetable beef soup before the Dexter Bearcats vs the Malden Green Wave football game. It's senior night also at Charles Bland Stadium.
Cost is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children under 12.
The United Methodist Church is located at 501 S. Walnut Street in downtown Dexter.

Pageants are sponsored by the Dexter High School Choral Department.
The 2017 Miss Heartland is Ashleigh Bedwell. She is the daughter of Trey and Dena Bedwell.
Second Alternate is Kelby Hill. She is the daughter of Sara Davis and Cory Hill.
First Alternate is Alexa Werneck. She is the daughter of Chad and Amber Werneck.
