In Memory of James Pot Anderson
James "Pot" Anderson, son of the late Albert Andrew Anderson and Nettie Blagg Anderson was born on October 10, 1921 in Bernie and departed this life on July 7, 2017 at the Dexter Living Center at the age of 95.

Mr. Anderson was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War 2.  He was a graduate of Dexter Senior High School and played football at Southeast Missouri State University.  He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Dexter.  He worked in construction and was well known for his woodworking designs and creations.

On August 5, 1948, he was united in marriage to Evlyn Sisler in St. Louis, Missouri.  Mrs. Anderson preceded him in death on July 21, 1999.

He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Thrower and husband Tom of Dexter and Elenor Evans and husband Dale of Dexter; by three grandchildren, Daryn Evans, Tony Thrower and Erica Thrower and by five great-grandchildren, Addie Thrower, Micah Cisco, Jackson Thrower, Daniel Evans and Lauren Evans.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Russell Anderson and by two sisters, Opal Montgomery and Nina Arnold.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.  

Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 12:30 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Williams officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
