In Memory of Raymond Lovelady

Raymond R.C. Lovelady, son of the late Richard Lovelady and Ora North Lovelady was born on September 25, 1926 in Beach Grove, Arkansas and departed this life on February 5, 2017 at his residence in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 90 years.

Mr. Lovelady retired from Greyhound Bus Lines in 1985 and moved to Dexter from St. Louis, Missouri, and was a Veteran of the United States Army-Airforce serving in World War II, member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter.
            
He sung gospel music for 50 years.  He loved to sing for the Lord and had many good friends he enjoyed singing with.

On December 18, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mildred Anna Bradford in St. Louis, Missouri.  Mrs. Lovelady survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include three sons, Randy Ray Lovelady (Sheila) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Kevin Curtis Lovelady (Cheryl) of Corona, California, and Christopher Robert Lovelady (Amy) of Bernie, Missouri; by one daughter, Ramona Kaye Davis (Gary) of St. Louis, Missouri; also by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
    
Memorials can be made to the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, 1500 N. Westwood Blvd., Poplar Bluff, Missouri 63901

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 11:00 until 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 9, 2017. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Kenneth Biggs and Rev. Shawn Bradford officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military rites.
