In Loving Memory of Reverend James Riley Mosbey

Reverend James Riley “Pete” Mosbey, 68, of Fisk, died on Sunday evening, July 17, 2016 at his home in Fisk. He was born on August 17, 1947 in Fisk, a son of the late Clifford Mosbey and Viola (Weathers) Mosbey.

Pete proudly served his country in the United States Army. On March 1, 1971 Pete was united in marriage to Sharen McClure; to this union four children were born.

Pete was a self-employed carpenter by trade. While he was a man of many talents, his passion was in the Ministry and professing the truth of his Lord and Savior to others; he was a fisher of men. Pete was active in starting the Women’s Abuse Hotline and Shelter in Poplar Bluff.

He also founded and pastored the Word of God Church in Dexter. When Pete wasn’t busy fishing for souls he thoroughly enjoyed a day on the water fishing for dinner as well.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by three of his siblings, John Mosbey, Ed Mosbey and baby Helen Mosbey.

Pete is survived by his four children, Candice Mosbey, Crystal Allstun and her husband Kenny, Cody Mosbey and his fiancé Tiffany Turner and Caleb Mosbey and his wife Carrie; six siblings, Judy Rogers, Star Moore, Nelda Deluge, Linda McClure, Marty Ward and Roy Mosbey; six grandchildren, Amandrea Jameson, Colby Wright, Alex Allstun, Damon Allstun, Chase Mosbey and Scott Mosbey; along with three great-grandchildren, Malaki Mitchell, Koa Mitchell and Mya Grace Jameson.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm on Saturday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral chapel with Reverend Sloan Parker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ash Hill Cemetery East with full Military Honors.
