Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary honors Brayden Vaughn with the Positive Office Referral certificate.

This award is presented to students who consistently show the 3 R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN at Southwest Elementary in Dexter.

Brayden was nominated by his first grade teacher Miss Hutchcraft.  She also received a certificate, a golden loop and a free taco from Taco Bell.

Miss Hutchcraft says, "Brayden is always showing 3Rs".

Brayden is the son of Brandon and Christy Vaughn.

Dexter, Missouri - High School All-District Band auditions were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Jackson High School.

The Dexter high school band is under the direction of Scott Rybolt.

Cady Puliam earned 8th Chair Flute, Kerigan Brady earned 11th Chair Flute, Erin Lauters earned 3rd Chair Clarinet, Courtney Scholl earned 11th Chair Clarinet, Victoria Merrit earned 15th Chair Clarinet, Johnna Hinklin earned 2nd Chair Alto Clarinet, Emily Johns earned 6th Chair French Horn, Sean Rybolt earned 2nd Mallet Percussion, Abby Mangum earned 2nd Chair Oboe, and Gina Magarian earned 2nd Chair Trumpet.

This award is presented to students who consistently show the 3 R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN at Southwest Elementary in Dexter.

Brooklyn was nominated by her music teacher Mr. James Eldrith and is in Miss Hutchraft's first grade class.  She also received a certificate, a golden loop and a free taco from Taco Bell.

Mr. Eldrith says, "Brooklyn is always showing the 3Rs and sets an example for her peers."

Brooklyn is the daughter of Ginger Goodman.

This award is presented to students who consistently show the 3 R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN at Southwest Elementary in Dexter.

Layton was nominated by his Art Teacher Mrs. Banken and is in Mrs. Berry's kindergarten class.  He also received a certificate, a golden loop and a free taco from Taco Bell.

Mrs. Banken says, "Layton is always ready to learn in art!"

Layton is the son of Marsha Eubanks and Brian Morrison.

Dexter, Missouri - Evie Fortner's second grade classroom earned the Southwest Elementary Positive Behavioral Support Reward Flag for October.

School Wide Positive Behavioral Support (SWPBS) award is presented at the start of each month at Southwest Elementary.  One classroom in each grade is recognized for exhibiting the high character with regard to observing the school's 3R's.

The 3R's stand for being Respectful, Ready to Learn and Responsible.  The class with the highest attendance average, combined with the fewest disciplinary measures and general good character are awarded a 3R red flag to be posted in their classroom for the next month.  The students are also awarded "superhero" capes to wear and parade around the gym before returning to class.
