Gale Elledge

Gale Elledge son of the late Homer Elledge and Versa Shell Elledge was born on July 16, 1933 in Bollinger County, Missouri and departed this life on September 20, 2015 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 82.

Mr. Elledge was a Retired Veteran of the United States Air Force where he worked as an Avionics Technician for twenty-two years.  He served his country in the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion Post #59 and the Dexter Elks Lodge. Mr. Elledge was a former instructor at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. He was a resident of Dexter.

On August 27, 1964 he was united in marriage to Judith Lynn in Dexter.  Mrs. Elledge survives of Dexter.

Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Matt Elledge of Ft. Hood, Texas and James Elledge of Landstuhl, Germany; by three sisters, Peggy Causey of Dexter, Rose Upp of La Porte, Indiana and Shirley Howell of Mill Creek, Indiana and by four grandchildren, Ben Elledge, Cora Elledge, Kate Elledge and Max Elledge.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Overfelt.

A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, September, 24, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers the family requests all memorials be made to 18 Fore Life, c/o Scott Kruse, 705 Laurie Circle, Dexter, Missouri 63841.
