The girls are also selling Boston Butts for $25.00.  Money is due by July 10th and delivery will be August 1st and 2nd.

They have also decided to have a Car Wash/Bake Sale at Carnell’s Collision Service in Sikeston on Sunday, July 12th at 10:00 a.m.

Bearcats Building Strength Preparing for the 2015 Season

Dexter, Missouri - High School Football season is just under two months away and the athletes are already on the field getting physical, learning new plays, and setting goals.

“I am very excited that the 2015 season has finally gotten underway,” commented Dexter head football coach Justin Peden.  “The first camp is always fun for the guys because they are getting back to doing something they love.

“Our turnout has been great and we have a lot of guys coming out who have either never played before or who are coming back to the game, which is great!”

Athletes have already been weight training, which is a major emphasis for the Bearcats.  They have been working out each morning in the weight room, building strength.

“We played in a 7on 7 tournament at Southeast Missouri State University on Saturday,” continued Peden.  “Teams from Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee and Indiana were there so it was nice to see new competition.”

The 7 on 7 Contact Camp hosted several teams from around area including Dexter, Cape Central, Jackson, Portageville, Kelly, Kennett, St. Vincent, Perryville, and Charleston as well as teams from outside of the southeast Missouri area.

“I just wanted us to go out there and play,” stated Peden.  “They developed chemistry and represented themselves very well.”

The Bearcats went 3-1 in pool play.  Their only loss was by one score.  They played Horn Lake, Mississippi, a 6A team and lost in the championship game.

“This group of young men have the potential to be very good,” Peden said of his 2015 football team.  “But it will take a lot of hard work from now to week one!”

You will have an opportunity to see the Bearcats on the field prior to the home opener.  On Friday, August 14th the Dexter Bearcats will host the Jamboree.  Teams participating and more details will be forthcoming in an updated article on the ShowMe Times.

The Class 3, District 1 2015 Football season will begin on Friday, August 21st at home against Ste. Genevieve.   The Bearcats lost by just 6 points last year on Dragon's home field, so let’s mark our calendars and show these athletes what kind of support we have for them!
