With excruciating heat and humidity the boys performed quite well under the hot conditions. They drilled and worked on plays for a couple of hours before hosting a little 11-man scrimmage between the two varsity teams. Even the Junior Varsity Bearcats and Indians saw some turf time.
"It was great to get out there and compete against someone other then our own guys," commented head football coach Justin Peden. "Hayti is a fast, physical team and overall I think we learned a lot from today."
"We battled and did some good things on both sides of the ball. Overall I am pleased with how we did," continued Peden.
"I want to thank Coach Cruce at Hayti for coming up. I also want to thank Dexter Pizza Company for helping us with pizzas to feed all these boys!"
You will be able to see the Bearcats in their first performance on the field at the Annual Jamboree on August 14th. Due to construction of the new football stadium entrance the jamboree has been moved to East Prairie. New Madrid County Central and Kennett will also be at the Jamboree! Game time 6:00 p.m.
