Conservation Agent Mark Reed Hosts Heroes of the Wild
Dexter, Missouri - More than 100 children and adults attended the Keller Public Library summer reading program, "Every Hero Has a Story."  This week featured Mark Read, Stoddard County Conservation Agent, with his many hides, a few skulls of animals native to Missouri and even a good ole green rubber snake.

He talked with the youngsters about each animal's habitat and what they like to eat.  The children seemed to be quite knowledgeable as they raised their hands to answer his various questions.  He also went over the do's and don'ts of when you see a wild animal outdoors.  Some can be very dangerous!

"Never take a wild animal and try to make a pet!"

On Wednesday, July 15th at 11:00 a.m. the final summer reading program will be "Crafts and Ice Cream Sundaes!"  YUM!  Sounds like a great program!  Everyone come out and enjoy!  School will begin very soon for the older children!
