Hayli Petty Honored by MO Association of Student Councils
Dexter, Missouri - Hayli Petty of Dexter High School was awarded the Distinguished Student Leader Award by the Missouri Association of Student Councils.

"This is the most prestigious award given by the association," Jennifer Miller, student council representative for DHS said of the award to Petty, "and is based on the student's leadership and involvement in school and community activities throughout their four years of high school."

"Receiving this award feels like such an honor because of all the amazing people in Student Council," commented Petty.  "I have been to the District Convention four times, the State Convention twice and the people never cease to amaze me.  It has been the single, most significant experience of my life!"

Hayli is the 18-year-old daughter of Tryna Mitchell and Scott Mitchell and is a senior at Dexter.

Her activities include Student Council, Honor Society, Future Teachers of America, and the Art Club.

She also participates in Rotary Interact and was in Showstoppers of SEMO for two years.

Hayli is a big art enthusiast, loves photography, and enjoys reading and writing.  She also plays billiards when she gets the opportunity.

Her future plans are to attend Ozark Technical College in Springfield, Missouri and then transfer to Missouri State University.  She's not 100% sure of her degree, but might like to major in Graphic Design.
