Chapman is the daughter of John and Dawn Chapman of Dexter.

Dexter, Missouri – The snow has played havoc for many events in southeast Missouri. The T.S. Hill Middle School's Trivia Night had to be cancelled; however they have decided to reschedule and host their fundraiser!
The Dexter Middle School Choir Trivia Night has been rescheduled for Friday, March 20th!
The event will take place at the Dexter Church of Christ fellowship building located across from Burger King in Dexter. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and trivia begins at 7:00 p.m.
Teams can be up to 8 people and it is $15.00 per person. This is a wonderful fundraiser for the Dexter Middle School Choir and anyone who likes trivia should join them for a night of fun!

Dexter, Missouri - Dexter High School Library is pleased to announce a new partnership with Driving-Tests.org, one of the nation’s top sites for driver’s license practice tests. The partnership will strengthen the library’s mission to be a vital gateway to information.
Dexter High School Library is announcing a partnership with Driving-Tests.org, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offer free DMV practice tests online, starting Friday, February 27, 2015.
The new service includes free tests, written specifically based on the state DMV materials, and is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that allow users to hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask sections of the screen for greater visibility on driving practice tests.
Availability and accessibility is important to the creators of Driving-Tests.org, as the site is designed to help new drivers study state manuals and take driving practice tests based on the real DMV written exams. This partnership allows the Dexter High School Library to harness the power of Driving-Test.org’s specialized practice exams to turn new drivers into safer drivers.
Not only will the new online program benefit teens, but it will also work as an outreach for other groups of citizens, such as those with disabilities, those who need to take a renewal exam, and patrons at every other stage of life.
“We also have partnerships with hundreds of libraries and schools across the nation, devoted to creating safe drivers,” says Driving-Tests.org’s founder, Andrei Zakhareuski. “Our partners value information and accessibility – the same values we have, and ones that lead to safer roadways.”

Dexter, Missouri - The six candidates for Dexter School Board will be participating in a public candidate forum on Monday, March 30 at 6:30 P.M. in the Dexter High School auditorium. The Dexter Community Teachers Association (CTA), who will host this forum, would like to invite all Dexter citizens to attend.
The purpose of the forum is for voters to meet the candidates and determine the candidates’ opinions on issues affecting Dexter Public Schools. The forum will consist of the candidates answering a variety of questions that have been prepared by local students, teachers, and faculty members.
The election will be held on April 7. The following six candidates are running for the two vacant positions: Sarah Kati Blackler, Jason Comfort, Ronald David Glaus II, Jim Reiker, incumbent Rick Williams, and Matt Worley.
Cape Girardeau, Missouri - Dexter High School junior and senior students, under the direction of Clint Twaddell, had eight art pieces selected for the show at Southeast Missouri State University’s 37th Annual High School Art Exhibition. This year’s theme was “Exhibiting Excellence,” and included art pieces from more than 20 southeast Missouri schools.
The show invites high school juniors and seniors to enter their finest pieces in several categories including: Sculpture, Ceramics, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Photography, Fibers, Drawing, or Painting. Each school was allowed 15 artwork entries per teacher, which were juried for the “Exhibition for Excellence.”
Dexter High School students had eight of their 15 entries selected.
“This is just excellent,” Twaddell said of his student’s work. “I’m very proud of all of them. This is a just a great showing. They all worked incredibly hard on these pieces, and it paid off.”
The exhibition at River Campus in Cape Girardeau is currently on display and will remain there through March 8.
Two Dexter students had multiple works selected for the art show. MaKayla Waldner had three pieces accepted. She was awarded two Honorable Mentions in Mixed Media and Drawing and a scholarship for the Summer Art Academy as an outstanding junior in the show.
Josh Ladd, junior at DHS, had two pieces accepted in the show.
Honey Patel, a senior, had one piece accepted and was awarded second place in Painting.
Senior Hayley Chapman had one piece accepted into the show, and senior,
Hayli Petty had one piece accepted into the show and was awarded second place in Drawing.
A total of 350 pieces were entered in the competition, and 100 were selected to be placed in the exhibit, with 15 of those pieces being from Dexter High School students.
