Bloomfield Claw Their Way to a Win Over the Puxico Indians

Bloomfield, Missouri – In game #7 of the 58th Annual Bloomfield Christmas tournament the #7 seeded Bloomfield Wildcats proved to have the lucky number 7 on their side.  Bloomfield scored double digits in each of the four quarters to secure their win over the Puxico Indians 73 – 55.

Chris Siler tallied a team-high 17 points for Puxico and landed one trey.  Seth Luttrell scored 15 points and hit two 3-pointers.  Zack Tucker finished the game with 14 points.  Dalton King hit one trey for the Indians.

Puxico led at the end of the first quarter by one point.  Bloomfield fought back and scoring 21 points in the second period to regain the lead 39 – 36 at the half. 

Bloomfield’s Noah Vandiver seemed to be unstoppable under the basket finishing with a game-high 27 points.  Peyton Bell tallied 12 points including one 3-pointer. Nathan Newell finished the night with 9 points including a trey and Tyler Battles scored 7 points including a trey.

The Wildcats came out strong in the 3rd quarter doubling their opponent’s points.  Bloomfield scored 18 points to Puxico’s 9 points in the 3rd.

58th Annual Bloomfield Boys Basketball Christmas Tournament

Bloomfield, Missouri – the 58th Annual Bloomfield Boys Basketball Christmas Tournament is slated to begin Friday, December 26th with the first game at 10:00 a.m. between the #1 seed Hayti Indians and the #16 seed Richland Rebels.

The seedings are as follows: #1 Hayti, #2 Malden, #3 Kennett, #4 Bernie, #5 Twin Rivers, #6 Dexter, #7 Bloomfield, #8 South Pemiscot, #9 Saxony Lutheran, #10 Puxico, #11 Portageville, #12 Holcomb, #13 East Prairie, #14 Doniphan, #15 Van Buren, and #16 Richland.

At 11:15 a.m. it’s the #2 seed Malden Green Waves vs #15 Van Buren and at 12:30 p.m. the #3 Kennett Indians take on #14 Doniphan Dons.

At 2:00 p.m. #4 Bernie Mules take on the #13 seed East Prairie Eagles.  Twin Rivers seeded #5 will compete against #12 seed Holcomb Hornets at 3:30 p.m.

The Dexter Bearcats seeded #6 will play at 5:00 p.m. against #11 seed Portageville Pirates.  #7 seeded Bloomfield Wildcats take on the #10 seed Puxico Indians at 6:30 p.m.

The final game of the evening will be #8 South Pemiscot against #9 Saxony Lutheran.

Play will begin on Saturday, December 27th at 10:00 a.m. beginning with the Consolation Bracket. 

December 29th at 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. will be the semifinal games and the Championship game will be held on Tuesday, December 30th at 8:30 p.m.

Bloomfield Wildcats Defeat Richland

Bloomfield, Missouri – The Bloomfield Wildcats varsity boys basketball program improved their record to 4 – 1 with a convincing victory over the Richland Rebels.

“Offensively, we played about as well as we could play, and really did a good job for all four quarters,” commented head Bloomfield basketball coach Jason Karnes.  “We weren’t very pleased with our defensive effort the first half, but thought we did a better  job defensively and on the boards the second half.  We are proud of our guys and the way they have played the first two weeks, but we want to continue to practice hard and continue to get better every day.  We need a good week of practice and preparation for a really good Advance team on Friday.”

Preston Tilley recorded a game-high 23 points including five 3-pointers for the Rebels.  Marcus Grayson added 11 including a trey.

Noah Vandiver recorded a team-high 22 points for Bloomfield.  Peton Bell and Tim Hector each hit three treys for the Wildcats.  Bell finished with 15 points and Hector tallied 9 points. 

Austin Bond recorded 16 points and Tyler Battles tallied 18 points for Bloomfield.

Final Score Bloomfield 97, Richland 46

Fast Start Fuels Wildcats Win Over Hawks

Benton, Missouri – The Bloomfield Wildcats improved their record to 3 - 1 on the road defeating the Kelly Hawks 81 - 49.

“Always good when you can go on the road and get a win,” commented Bloomfield head boys basketball coach and Athletic Director Jason Karnes. “I thought our guys played really hard tonight.  They had some good contributions tonight from everyone on the team, both offensively and defensively.  Just really proud of our effort and the way these guys are starting to come together as a team.”

The Wildcats jumped out with a comfortable lead in the first period 15 - 6.  Bloomfield scored double digits in each of the four quarters. 

Noah Vandiver tallied a game-high 21 points for the Wildcats scoring more than one bucket in each period.  Nathan Newell also scored a two-pointer in each period and added one trey, finishing the game with 17 total points.

Caleb Pulley, Peyton Bell and Tyler Battles each sank a 3-pointer for the Wildcats.

Bloomfield Wildcats Open with Win at Holcomb Invitational

Holcomb, Missouri – The #2 seeded Bloomfield Wildcats easily defeated Piggott, Arkansas 70 – 52 in a quarterfinal match-up at the Holcomb Invitational Tournament Tuesday evening. 

Noah Vandiver, a six-foot-three junior tallied a game-high 18 points for the Wildcats. 

Freshman Peyton Bell and Tyler Battles scored 14 points each.  Bell hit two of Bloomfield’s three treys.  Caleb Pulley had one trey.

Bloomfield jumped out to a 20 – 9 lead in the first quarter and scored double digits in each of the four quarters. 

Final Score  Bloomfield 70, Piggott 52
