
Dorothy Rowland, daughter of the late Elmer and Effie Snow Suttlery, was born on May 24, 1928 in Dunklin County, Missouri and departed this life in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on May 16, 2014 at the age of 85.
Mrs. Rowland was a member of the Sweet Prospect General Baptist Church and the Liberty Hill General Baptist Church, was a former line worker for International Hat Company in Dexter, was a former cook for the Dexter Public School System, a former Board member of the Stoddard County Farm Bureau, was a former member of the Tatum Extension Club and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to John Rowland in March of 1949 at Piggott, Arkansas and to this union seven children were born. Mr. Rowland survives.
Survivors include five sons, Ray Rowland and Allen Rowland both of Dexter, Gary Rowland of Bloomfield, Gene Rowland of Doniphan and Terry Rowland of Fisk: by two daughters, Frances Williams of McGee and Kay Asbell of Dexter: by one brother, Curtis Snow of Malden: by fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M., Monday, May 19, 2014.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Rowland and Rev. Joe Payne officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
