Gary Thomas Marron Sr., son of the late John Edward Marron and June Herron Marron was born on August 31, 1954 in Verona, Pennsylvania and passed away on November 29, 2013 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 59.
Mr. Marron was a forger at a steel mill in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Broadwater Church of the Brethren and a resident of Dexter. Gary’s family was very important to him, he loved telling stories to his grandchildren, and he did things for people and did not want recognition for his acts of kindness. He was a coin collector and loved watching his Pittsburgh Steelers play football.
On September 28, 1971 he was united in marriage to Rebecca A. Covert in Verona, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Marron survives of their home in Dexter.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Gary Thomas Marron Jr. of Essex; by two daughters, Melissa Ann Marron and Marie Anna Hyten both of Dexter; by two brothers, John Edward Marron Jr. of Kittanning, Pennsylvania and Timothy Marron of New York; by one sister, Becky Donavau of Verona, Pennsylvania and by nine grandchildren.
Besides his parents one son preceded him in death in infancy; by one brother, David Marron and by one sister, Cindy Wan.
A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joshua Carpenter officiating.
