Three Dexter players were selected to the All-Conference Team and five players received Honorable Mention for their outstanding performance on the field.
Congratulations to the following football players for being elected to the SEMO Central All-Conference First Team:
D.J. Dowdy
*Receiving: 30 catches for 718 yards and 6 Touchdowns
*Passing: 30/57 for 277 yards and 2 Touchdowns
*Rushing: 39 carries for 113 yards
*Return Yard: 127 yards on punt/kickoff returns
*Total: 1235 yards and 8 Touchdowns
"D.J. had two games of 150+ receiving yard and played quarterback for two games which hurt his receiving numbers a bit," commented Coach Justin Peden. "He is an excellent player and the most deserving player I have."
Brandon Wick
"Brandon is the most consistent lineman we have on the team and he is very deserving of this recognition," noted Peden. "He did an excellent job for us. He worked hard all summer and his dedication showed on the field. I am looking forward to seeing what he will be able to accomplish next year."
Trevor Waldner
"Trevor was an excellent player for us on defense this year," stated Peden. " He moved around the field a lot and played aggressively all year. He is very deserving of this and I am proud to have worked with him his senior year."
Also congratulations to the following players for receiving Honorable Mention:
Peyton Pollock
*Passing: 86/160 for 1360 yards and 10 Touchdowns
*Rushing: 110 carries fro 504 yards and 1 Touchdown
*Total: 1864 yards with 11 Touchdowns
"Pollock missed two games during regular season due to an injury," stated Peden. "He would have been well over 2000 yards of total offense. He is very deserving of honor mention." This was Pollock's first year as a Bearcat moving to Dexter. He will be a senior next year so it will be interesting to see what he will bring to the field.
Drew Mason
"Drew is a leader on the offensive line of a vastly improved unit," commented Peden. "He moved from center to tackle and did an amazing job. I will miss his leadership and fantastic personality. He is well deserving of this honorable mention."
Austin Aldridge
*24 Total tackles and 2 interceptions
"Austin led the team with two interceptions and did a great job for us," commented Peden. "Though he missed a couple of games during the season he has a lot of talent and I look forward to seeing him on the field again next year."
Dylan Bazarian
*92 Total Tackles
*3 Fumble Recoveries
*1 Pass Break Up
*1 Defensive Touchdown
"Dylan is the best defensive player I have with a total of 92 tackles and even one defensive touchdown," stated Peden. "He is very deserving of this recognition."
Makayla Waldner
"MaKayla did an amazing job for us in her first season," according to Coach Peden. "She connected on 86% of her extra points and was the most reliable kicker I have ever had coaching. I can't wait to see her development in the next year as she is just a sophomore." MaKayla is the first female football player for the Dexter Bearcats and did an amazing job for them kicking this year. We can't wait to see what she bring to the field in her junior and senior years at Dexter High School.
