Bloomfield, Missouri - Top seeded Dexter 7th graders defeated the #2 seeded Bernie Mules 48 - 19!  The boys ran out on the court determined to win and they won big!

Of Bernie's 19 points 6 were treys scored by Weston Zoll and Josh Ellenburg.

Dexter hit three treys in just the first quarter giving them quite an edge over the Mules.  Eric Hahn had a great time hitting 3 treys for Dexter.  Seth Rogers scored one as well.

Two Bearcats registered double digits.  Nate Gargas scored 12 and Braxton Foster tallied 10.

Dexter returns to action Monday evening when they host the Poplar Bluff Mules. All other SCAA teams have completed their seasons.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The #3 seeded Puxico Indians earned a SCAA Championship 8th grade title win with an upset over the #2 ranked Dexter Bearcats in overtime Tuesday evening.  This may be the first SCAA Championship win for Puxico in over 25 years.

The fans were on their feet for several minutes cheering as each team sank a basket.  It was intense and one of the best games of the season so far!


Dexter trailed 30-23 at halftime, but came back in the 3rd quarter to tie the game 30 all. Brent Geohagan in the last two minutes of regular play put the Indians on top 33-42, but the Bearcats would not give up.  Gabe Jackson tied the game just a few seconds later. 

Puxico's Dalton King hit one of two free throws with less than a minute left in the game to give the Inidans a 45-44 lead.  Dexter's Gabe Jackson once again tied the game with a free throw bringing them into overtime with a score of 45- 45.  That's when things went wild on the court!  Fans were standing on their feet cheering as each team tried to score.

With just a few seconds remaining in a 2 minute overtime period, Puxico got one last shot to seal their lead 48-47 when Levi Woods hit one of two free throws. 

Levi Woods led the Indians with a game high 23 points.  Dalton King added 14 points and hit Puxico's only trey.

Dexter's Gabe Jackson racked up a team high 20 points before fouling out in overtime.  Bo McMullin was the only other Bearcat reaching double digits tallying up 11 points. Both Kole Kelley and Nick Trout scored a 3 pointer each in the championship game.  Way to go Bearcats! 

Despite their loss the Bearcats did a great job on the court.  Puxico came determined this year to win and with two upsets defeating Bernie in semifinal play and Dexter in the championship game are worthy of a great win.  They played with a lot of heart!

Three Bernie players were in double digits.  Gavin Brown tallied a game high of 13 points, Ridge Littleton scored 12 points including a trey, and Alan Pippins added 11 along with a 3-pointer to assist the Mules in their win.  Anthony Cook also added a trey.

Dexter, Missouri - The 2013 - 2014 Wrestling Schedule is out and the Bearcats are looking forward to a great season on the mat!

Their first match is on Thursday, December 5th at home.  On the mat will be Sikeston and Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. in the high school gym.

Media Day is Wednesday, November 20th and the ShowMe Times will have a preview of this year's wrestlers along with comments from Coach James Sneed.

Bloomfield, Missouri -  The 8th grade Dexter Bearcats celebrated another win Monday night when they defeated the Bloomfield Wildcats by a score of 51 - 17.

Dexter came into the tournament as the #1 seed. Bloomfield the #4 seed.

Gabe Jackson had a great night for the Bearcats scoring a game high 28 points.  He was the only player in double digits for either the Bearcats or Wildcats.  Way to go Gabe!  Cole McGowan had the only trey for the Bearcats!

#2 seeded Bernie was upset by #3 Puxico in Monday night action.  Puxico defeated the Mules by a score of 47 - 45. 

Puxico had two players in double digits.  Levi Woods had a game high of 23 points and Dalton King added 13 to the board.  Both Dalton King and Hunter Walker had 3-points for the Mules.

Bernie also had two players in double digits.  Ridge Littleton had 15 points including a trey and Gavin Brown added 10 more.  The only other 3-pointer for Bernie was made by Dalton Hopgood.

Bloomfield, Missouri - The 7th grade Dexter Bearcats defeated the Bloomfield Wildcats 40-26 in the first semifinal game of the night.  Dexter came in as the #1 seed.  Bloomfield the #4 seed.

Dexter led the Wildcats in the first half by a score of 28 - 8.  Bloomfield did not give up, but the Bearcats were on fire!  Dalton Hart lead the Wildcats with 9 points.  Dexter had two players in double digits.  Seth Rodger scored 11 and Braxton Foster added 10.  Eric Hahn scored the only 3-pointers of the game with three great shots totally 9 points for the Bearcats!

The Bernie Mules defeated the Woodland Cardinals in the second semifinal game of the evening.  Bernie came in as the #2 seed and Woodland the #3 seed.  Final score Bernie 45 - Woodland 28.

Josh Ellenburg scored a game high of 16 points and hit one trey for the Bernie Mules.  Jeffery Brown was also in double digits adding 10 to the board.  Hunter Slaving hit the only other trey for the night.
