"THE HULK" FARIES WINS ShoFIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT BELT
Branson, Missouri - Dr. Bruce Banner has nothing on Dexter's own MMA Champion, Josh "The Hulk" Faries. Josh continues his MMA fighting career adding title belts and wins to his record that can be seen as nothing less than "Incredible".
This past Saturday, Faries tag teamed with a large group of coaches, friends and supporters from the Dark Horse MMA to travel to Branson as the Main Event at the ShoFIGHT Heavy Hitters MMA event. ShoFIGHT has quickly emerged as one of the top New Mixed Martial Arts Promoters in the Midwest.
This contest was a big one for Josh, as the title belt for the ShoFIGHT Heavyweight Championship had been vacated and was on the line. Already the ShoFIGHT Super Heavyweight Champion and the Cage of Honor Heavyweight Champion, Faries was all business.
"The Hulk" had been training hard at The Fitness Connection in Downtown Dexter preparing for this fight. Josh was slated to take on another Missouri challenger, Travis Kelly, in the Heavyweight division. The heavyweights are noted as those in the 264 pound fighter weights.
As the final event of the evening before a sell out crowd at the Radison Hotel and Convention Center, Faries was well aware of the challenge that Kelly would bring to the cage. After a hard fought battle and at the 0:52 mark of Round 2, "The Hulk" defeated Travis Kelly by a KO/TKO, otherwise known as a "Ground and Pound Tapout".
The success in the cage of Josh "The Hulk" Faries is only a portion of the story, as many that know him are well aware of what sits below that rough and tough exterior. Josh has a kindness that is very apparent with each encounter. He is proof that in a sport that requires a certain level of aggressive skills, you can certainly expect that the example that Josh shares with others is one of a tenacious worker at a sport he dearly loves to participate. Congratulations Josh from the SMT and all your friends.

Missouri - We at the Missouri Department of Conservation want to remind you about a rich tradition and very popular pastime enjoyed by many Missourians this time of year -- deer hunting and watching.
Conservation makes Missouri a great place to hunt and watch deer. Missouri has nearly 520,000 deer hunters and almost two million wildlife watchers. Activities related to deer hunting and watching support thousands of businesses in communities around the Show-Me State, support more than 12,000 Missouri jobs, and boost state and local economies by about $1 billion each year.
Firearms deer season is approaching. Hunters can easily and conveniently buy permits online at mo.wildlifelicense.com/start.php.
Get more info on deer hunting through our “2013 Fall Deer & Turkey Hunting Regulations and Information” booklet available at MDC offices and nature centers, from permit vendors, and online at tinyurl.com/obxjp27.
