Paulette Cobb

Paulette Cobb daughter of the late Curtis Orr and Pauline Ergle Orr Matheny was born on January 1, 1952 in Matthews, Missouri and died on July 27, 2013 at her daughter’s residence in Gray Ridge at the age of 61.

Mrs. Cobb was a seam welder for Brown Shoe Company in Bernie and was a resident of Bernie.

On June 11, 1967 she was united in marriage to Leon Cobb in New Madrid, Missouri.  Mr. Cobb preceded her in death on August 15, 2006.

She is survived by three sons, Jeffery Leon Cobb and his wife Patricia of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, Anthony Eugene Cobb of Bernie and Justin Dewayne Cobb and his wife Bobbie of Canalou, Missouri; by one daughter, Paula Vaughn and husband Jeffery of Gray Ridge and by nine grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son in infancy; by three brothers, Johnny Orr, J. C. Orr and Curtis Orr; by one half -brother and by one half sister.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

Louie William Watson

Louie William "Pete" Watson, son of the late Triss and Fannie Lane Watson, was born near Bernie, Missouri on March 8, 1924, and passed away at the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas on July 27, 2013, at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 19 days.

Mr. Watson, a resident of Dexter, had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri the majority of his life. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri.

On December 1, 1944, he was married to Bonnie Jean Wilmath in Piggott, Arkansas.

Surviving are his wife of 671/2 years, Bonnie Jean Watson of Dexter, Missouri; two sons and wife, Larry Watson of Bloomfield, Mike & Judy Watson of Benton, Arkansas; two daughters and husbands, Brenda & Buck Hamlin of Pevely, Missouri, Saundra & Glynn Holt of Jefferson City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Lamunion and Beautone Smith; and five brothers, Bob, Jerry, Jack, Gary and Bill Watson. Other relatives and many friends survive to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by one sister, Coleen Watson, and three brothers, Everett, Chester and Jim Watson.

Friends may call on Monday, July 29, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with the Rev. Ron Dunivan of Monette, Arkansas officiating.

Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.

Angela D. Scroggins

Angela D. Scroggins daughter of the late Gary Allen and Marian Susan Allen of Dexter was born on January 10, 1977 in Poplar Bluff and passed away on July 27, 2013 at Southeast Health of Stoddard County at the age of 36.

Mrs. Scroggins was a homemaker and a resident of Dexter.

On July 22, 2011 she was united in marriage to Thomas Scroggins at Bloomfield.  Mr. Scroggins survives of their residence in Dexter.

Besides her mother she is survived by her brother, Garrett Allen of Dexter; by her step-mother, Rona Allen of Bloomfield; by three step-sisters, Paula Rogers of Lowndes, Missouri, Ashley Isaac of Dexter and Morgan Isaac of Bloomfield and by her mother and father in law, Roberta and Earl Scroggins of Dexter.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.

Robert C. Crow

Robert C. Crow son of the late Grover Crow and Martha Rosa McCain Crow was born on October 5, 1923 in Bernie and passed away on July 28, 2013 at his residence in Dexter at the age of 89.

Mr. Crow was a member of the Hopewell General Baptist Church, a farmer, former owner of Crow MFA Service Station in Bernie, a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II, a member of the Kenady-Hanks American Legion Post #59, a member of the Kenady-Hanks Military Honor Guard, a sixty year member of the Bernie Masonic Lodge #573 and a resident of Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Helen Cox on November 9, 1946 at Bernie.  Mrs. Crow  preceded him in death on April 13, 2005.  He then married Ruth Thomas on February 14, 2007 near Essex.  She preceded him in death on September 14, 2011.

He is survived by three sons, Phillip and Donna Crow, Terry and Kathy Crow and Bobby Crow all of Dexter: by one daughter, Donna and Al Roberts of Bloomfield: by one step-son, Lawrence and Chris Garrett of Blackstone,Virginia: by one step-daughter, Gloria Hampton of Dexter: by five brothers, Cleo Crow of Warrenton, Grover C. Crow Jr. of Dixon, California, Glen Crow of Titusville, Florida, Louis Crow of Volo, Illinois and Clyde Crow of Clio, Michigan: by two sisters, Lorene Parris of West Plains and Loreda Low of Dexter: by fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Shelby Crow, Wenzil Crow, Denzil Crow, Paul Crow and Kenneth Crow: by one sister, Nettie Lou Fralick: by one grandson, Sean Crow.

A Masonic Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 30, 2013. 

Following the Masonic service, friends may call until 1:00 P.M. 

Funeral services will then be conducted at 1:00 P.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Buck Cruse officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with Full Military Honors.

James Bledsoe
James Bledsoe, son of the late Wesley Hugh and Martha Adeline "Addie" Clayton Bledsoe, was born in Marmaduke, Arkansas on September 12, 1925, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Dexter, Missouri on July 25, 2013, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 12 days.

Mr. Bledsoe had lived most of his life in Dexter, Missouri. He had worked at Brown Sand & Gravel before he retired. He was a member of the Ark of Hope Church in Dexter.

On July 30, 1961 he was married to Dorothy Mae Wood in Pigott, Arkansas.

Surviving are four daughters, Charlene Peterson of Chicago, Illinois, Sandra Bledsoe of Chicago, Illinois, Debra Morse of Dexter, Missouri, and Nelda Poeppelmeyer of Bloomfield, Missouri; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one brother, Remble Bledsoe of Advance, Missouri; one sister, Margie Anthony of Dexter, Missouri.  Other relatives and friends survive.

He was preceded in death by one son, Cecil Robbins; one daughter, Connie Robbins; one grandson, Stephen Jones; two sisters, Rhoda Jane White and Betty Jo Maddox; and three brothers, Murel, Earl, and Robie Bledsoe.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with Bishop Ronnie Webb of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
