Kenneth Eugene McCollough, Sr.

Kenneth Eugene McCollough, Sr., son of the late Francis McCollough and Hattie Sheehy McCollough, was born on August 30, 1935 in Rural Dexter, Missouri and departed this life on July 23, 2013 at St. John’s Place in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 77 years.

 

Mr. McCollough was a former resident of Dexter and was presently residing in St. Louis.  He worked as a machine operator for 7 UP in St. Louis and was a service station owner in Dexter.

 

He is survived by one son, Kenneth E. McCollough, Jr. and his wife Bridget of Fenton, Missouri; by one daughter, Vickie McCollough of Wildwood, Missouri;  by five grandchildren, Erin Bentley and her husband, Ryan, of Chesterfield, Missouri, Meghan Posloksy of Jefferson City, Missouri, Tyler Poslosky of Wildwood, Missouri, Ariel McCollough of Seattle, Washington and Kasha McCollough of Albuquerque, New Mexico; by two great-grandchildren, Parker and Caroline Bentley; and by one sister, Ruth Ann McCullough of Dexter.  He is also survived by his life long friend and brother-in-law, James Farr of Chesterfield, Missouri.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lane McCollough; four brothers, John F. McCollough, Alfred L. McCollough, Bud McCollough and Howard McCollough; and by two sisters, Dorothy Mathews and Joy Agnes McCollough.

 

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. 

 

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel.

 

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Charles Lee Petty

Charles Lee Petty, son of the late Emilee Marie Burris Petty was born on December 22, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on July 22, 2013 at his residence in Essex at the age of 79.


Mr. Petty was raised by Earnest and Lura Burris with their son Bob Barrett when he moved to Dexter early in his childhood.


He was retired from MODOT where he worked for thirty-seven years as a construction inspector.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard where he served for forty-one years.  He was a deacon and treasurer at the Broadwater Church of the Brethren and loved to play golf and bowl.  He loved and supported his family in every endeavor they pursued in life.


On December 27, 1955 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Swinger in Frisco, Missouri.  Mrs. Petty preceded him in death on February 12, 2007.


He is survived by one son, Daniel Lee Petty of Essex; by one daughter, Marie Froman of Patterson, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Shelly Woodland, Chris Froman, LaTonia Simpson and Zach Petty and by nine great-grandchildren.


Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.


Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harold Gass officiating.


Internment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

Charles Albert Lewis

Charles Albert Lewis, the son of the late Elmer George and Edith Ethal Matteson Lewis, was born in Pontiac, Michigan on January 17, 1937, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on July 20, 2013, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 3 days.

He had moved to Dexter in 1979, he lived in Villa Ridge, Missouri from 1995 until 2000 when he returned to Dexter. He was of the Catholic faith and had served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a tool and die maker by profession working at Purolator Products in Dexter for 18 years and the Chrysler Plant in Fenton, Missouri for 5 years until he retired in January of 2000. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, camping, and fishing.

On October 18, 1980, he was married to Linda June Kidd in Dexter, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Lewis of Dexter, Missouri; one son and wife, Jeff & Ruth Lewis of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; three daughters and husband, Dolores Barriner of Dixon, Missouri, Ann Quigley of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Lisa & Shannon Wren of Greenville, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one sister, May Machin of Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday July 25, 2013, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.

Evalee McGowen

Evalee McGowen, daughter of the late Harley and Marie Mitchell Maddox, was born in Dudley, Missouri on March 1, 1927, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing & Rehab Center in Puxico, Missouri on July 17, 2013, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 16 days.

She was a life long resident of Puxico and was a member of the Church of Christ in Asherville. She enjoyed painting, making dolls, sewing, quilting and all types of crafts..

On June 15, 1946, she was married to Thomas Wesley McGowen in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2001.

Surviving are one son, Rick McGowen of Marble Hill, Missouri; two daughters and husbands, Vicki & Larry Barnfield of Puxico, Missouri, Robin & Armando Martinez of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Maddox of Texas. Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Seth Keena and one brother, Bill Maddox.

Visitation will be held on Saturday July 20, 2013 after 9:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Terry Stockman of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.

Interment will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements.

Madeline Westmorlan, daughter of the late James Robert Fowler and Pearl Iva Cecil Fowler, was born on March 15, 1927, in Risco, Missouri and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on July 17, 2013, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 2 days.

She was raised in Risco and been a resident of Essex and Dexter, Missouri most of her life. She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ. She had been a cook and had worked for the public schools, The Pig, Polly's Drive Inn and The Dairy House before she retired.

On April 6, 1946, she was married to Leroy "Lee" Westmorlan in Cardwell, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1995.

She is survived by one son, David Lee Westmorlan of Diehlstadt, Missouri; two daughters, Darla Kay McMullin of Essex, Missouri, Cheryl Bowling of Bloomfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kristi Sanders and Brad Bowling both of Bloomfield, Amber Duley of Dudley, Sonya Thurman of Cape Girardeau and Seth Westmorlan of Diehlstadt; five great grandchildren, Paige Bowling, Tait Sanders and Brody Bowling all of Bloomfield, Lincoln and Ariana Duley both of Dudley; and one sister, Judy Rice of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Danny Lee Westmorlan, six brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Clyde Jacques and Bro. Travis Quertermous officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
