
Evalee McGowen, daughter of the late Harley and Marie Mitchell Maddox, was born in Dudley, Missouri on March 1, 1927, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing & Rehab Center in Puxico, Missouri on July 17, 2013, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 16 days.
She was a life long resident of Puxico and was a member of the Church of Christ in Asherville. She enjoyed painting, making dolls, sewing, quilting and all types of crafts..
On June 15, 1946, she was married to Thomas Wesley McGowen in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2001.
Surviving are one son, Rick McGowen of Marble Hill, Missouri; two daughters and husbands, Vicki & Larry Barnfield of Puxico, Missouri, Robin & Armando Martinez of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Maddox of Texas. Other family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Seth Keena and one brother, Bill Maddox.
Visitation will be held on Saturday July 20, 2013 after 9:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Bro. Terry Stockman of Sikeston, Missouri officiating.

Madeline Westmorlan, daughter of the late James Robert Fowler and Pearl Iva Cecil Fowler, was born on March 15, 1927, in Risco, Missouri and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, Missouri on July 17, 2013, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 2 days.
She was raised in Risco and been a resident of Essex and Dexter, Missouri most of her life. She was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ. She had been a cook and had worked for the public schools, The Pig, Polly's Drive Inn and The Dairy House before she retired.
On April 6, 1946, she was married to Leroy "Lee" Westmorlan in Cardwell, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1995.
She is survived by one son, David Lee Westmorlan of Diehlstadt, Missouri; two daughters, Darla Kay McMullin of Essex, Missouri, Cheryl Bowling of Bloomfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kristi Sanders and Brad Bowling both of Bloomfield, Amber Duley of Dudley, Sonya Thurman of Cape Girardeau and Seth Westmorlan of Diehlstadt; five great grandchildren, Paige Bowling, Tait Sanders and Brody Bowling all of Bloomfield, Lincoln and Ariana Duley both of Dudley; and one sister, Judy Rice of Dexter, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Danny Lee Westmorlan, six brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, after 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

He had lived in Creve Coeur, Brentwood, Lake St. Louis, and DeSoto, Missouri before moving to Dexter in 2002. he was a member of the first Baptist Church in Dexter and had been a member of the Rotary Club in Wentzville. He was a licensed Ham Radio Operator and held a patent on an ice detection system that is used on bridges and airport runways. He was a network engineer at Battles Xtreme Networks in Dexter.
On November 1, 1996 he was married to Heidi M. Delbo.
Surviving are his wife, Heidi Briggs of Dexter, Missouri; one son, James Briggs of Fayette, Missouri; two daughters, Colleen Fassler of Washington, Missouri, Kati Briggs of Dexter, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Joseph Stonecipher of Washington, Athan and David Briggs of Fayett, Ahrianna Settle of Union, Stephanie Manning of Texas, Elizabeth, Danielle and Matthew Fassler all of Washington; one great grandson, Landon Manning; and one sister, Dottie Jackson of Wentzville, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Steve Easterwood of Dexter officiating.

Leland Edward "Butch" Harper, Age 68, a resident of Matthews, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born July 18, 1944, at Maynard, Arkansas, to Hester Willadean Templeton Harper, who survives of Matthews, MO and the late Leland F. Harper, he had lived in Southeast Missouri most of his life and was a graduate of Anniston High School. He had been employed as a farmer and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was of the Methodist Belief and was a U.S. Army having served in Vietnam.
In 1967, he married Barbara Deason, who survives of the Dexter.
Also surviving are: two sons and daughters in law, Paul Wayne and Candy Harper of Essex, MO and Chad Edward and Ruby Harper of Hermann, MO; four brothers, Billy Harper of Sikeston; Bobby Harper and James R. Harper of Matthews and Ricky Lee Harper of Benton; five sisters, Linda Bagwell of Sieverville, TN; Patricia Branum of Enville, TN, Debbie Lynn Stewart and Mary Ellen Calhoun of Sikeston and Barbara Jean Yancy of Matthews; six grandchildren, Skyler Wayne Harper, Alexis Harper, Austin Harper, Landon Harper, Grant Patterson and Bailey Vance; one great granddaughter, Brylee Grace Head.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Eva Dean Shaffer.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Rev. Herman Morse, will officiate.
Graveside services with full military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Harper Cemetery near Maynard, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be: Stanley Harris, Timmy Curtis, Billy Harper, Justin Harper, Matthew Harper and Ryan Harper.

Betsy Louise Gregory, daughter of the late James Turnbough and Martie Jane McGee Foxworth, was born on October 13, 1932, in Parma, Missouri and passed away at her home in Pevely, Missouri on July 14, 2013, at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 1 days.
She had been a resident of Poplar Bluff, Missouri before moving to Pevely in 1961. She was a member of the Victory Christain Church in Pevely, Missouri. She had worked as a secretary at Browning Arms.
On October 9, 1954, she was married to Denzil G. Gregory in Hernando, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Denzil G. Gregory of Pevely, Missouri; one son, Wayne Gregory of Warrenton, Missouri; two daughters, Debbie Harter of Pevely, Missouri and Cheryl Robinson of Oakville, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013, after 10:45 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
