Patterson, Missouri - The public is invited to spend the day outdoors and help one of Missouri’s most scenic state parks at “Keep Baker Beautiful Day” on Saturday, May 4 at Sam A. Baker State Park. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the 21st annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers of all ages are invited to this special event that recognizes both Earth Day and Missouri Beautification Month by getting the park in shape for the upcoming busy season. Planting, trail care and litter patrol are just a few of the projects planned for the day. After the work, volunteers will receive a free picnic lunch and a one night camping coupon per family to be used at a later date. Participants are encouraged to bring a pair of work gloves, wear closed-toed shoes and bring drinking water. Those wanting to participate need to register by May 2.
