Students at Richland will have a busy week next week, culminating in the school's annual Homecoming celebration.

The district will participate on Tuesday in The Great Shake-Out - the state earthquake drill. The drill will be held at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in both the elementary and high school buildings.

The Great Central U.S. ShakeOut is an eight-state drill spanning much of the central United States.

The Richland Book Fair will open on Thursday, Feb. 9 with an open hour at 6 p.m. for students and parents.
Richland Librarian Karen Lane said the theme this year for the book fair is "Book Fair Luau - It's a Reading Celebration!"

The week will culminate on Friday with History Day and the annual Homecoming basketball game and coronation.

Homecoming candidates this year include:

• Seniors - Mallory Hillis and Austin Maddox
• Juniors - Jessica Hill and Nick Daniels
• Sophomores - McKenzie Hillis and Tyler Maddox
• Freshmen - Hailey Laws and Charlie Atchison.
