Seniors Recognized At Richland Senior Night

ESSEX -  Senior Night is a special night at for the Rebels at Richland.

The school celebrated four seniors on the basketball and cheerleading squads Thursday night with a special pre-game ceremony before the tip-off of the Richland-Naylor varsity game. It was the last home game for the Rebels for the 2011-2012 year. 

Basketball senior Tim Mason and cheer seniors Chelsea Freeman, Mallory Hillis, and Shelby Lampkin were all recognized at center court. The seniors were escorted by their parents for the special time of recognition.

 The seniors were all presented with a bouquet of roses by members of the Rebel Cheerleading squad, that the seniors in turn presented to their parents, and received a standing ovation from Rebel fans.

Honored Thursday night were:

Chelsea Freeman – Chelsea is the daughter of Steve and Stacy Freeman and cheered for two years. She has been involved at RHS in the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Beta Club, Student County, Pep Club and Library Club. Chelsea is the president of the RHS Senior Class. Chelsea plays volleyball and softball and has been a majorette with the band. Chelsea plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University to pursue a degree in business. 

Malory Hillis – Mallory is the daughter of Scott and Karen Hillis and has been a cheerleader for three years. She has been involved in FBLA, Beta Club, Student County and Pop Club. She is Student Council president and treasurer of the Senior Class. She is a member of the RHS golf team and a majorette. Mallory plans to pursue to degree in psychology at Missouri State University.

Shelby Lampkin – Shelby is the daughter of Joseph and Pamela Lampkin and has been a cheerleader for three years. She has been a member of FBLA, Beta Club, Student County, Pep Club, FCA, FCCLA, Future Farmers of America (FFA), Library Club, and the Character Education Team.  She plays volleyball and softball and is a member of the Flag Corps for the Marching Rebels. Shelby plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University in the fall.

Tim Mason – Tim is the son of Tom and Lisa Mason and has played basketball for the Rebels for two years. He is involved in FBLA, FCCLA, Beta Club, Student Council and the Library Club. He plays basketball and is an active member of the Richland band. Tim plans to attend Missouri State University and continue his career with the Missouri National Guard.
