Norma Jaques, daughter of the late Lowell Summers and Ivy Jackson Summers, was born on Aug. 3, 1945, in Parma, Mo., and died at her sister's residence in Campbell, Mo., on June 16, 2011 at the age of 65.

Mrs. Jaques was a homemaker and a resident of Bernie, Mo.

Survivors include her long-time companion, Ronnie Williams of Bernie; one brother, Stephen Summers of Kennett, Mo.; four sisters, Phillis Summers of Kennett, Mo., Belva Jo Frazier of Wappapello, Mo., Beverly Summers of Campbell, Mo., and Penny Collins of Malden, Mo.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Delmar Summers, Melvin Summers, William "Hoot" Summers, and Randy Summers.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, Missouri from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011.

Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating.

Interment will follow at the Berrong Cemetery near Zalma, Mo.

Cloyce King, son of the late Walter Harold King and Alaska Stephens King was born on Nov. 21, 1923 in Campbell, Mo., and died on June 16, 2011 at the South-east Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo., at the age of 87.

Mr. King was a member of the Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell, Mo.,, retired from Arvin in Dexter, self-employed farmer, and a resident of Bernie.

On Nov. 19, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Prater in Piggott, Ark.

Mrs. King survives of the home in Bernie.

Besides his wife, other survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny King and Becky of Dexter, Ricky King and Leah of Dexter, and Steve King and Julie of Perryville, Mo.; one brother, James King of Malden, Mo.; one sister Ruth Acord of San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey King, Michael King, Natalie King, and Emily King.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bertis King and Jesse Harold King; and by three sisters, Ruby Heskett, Lucille Loafman, and Rosemary Sellars.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Bryon Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery near Campbell, Mo., with full military honors.

Carolyn S. Polley, daughter of the late Jake Henry and Mary Juanita Baker Surface, was born in Bell City, Missouri on October 16, 1949, and passed away at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 16, 2011, at the age of 61 years and 8 months.

Mrs. Polley had lived in Bell City, Missouri all of her life. She had been a custodian at the Bell City Schools and had attended the Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Danny O. Reynolds of Bell City, Missouri; three sons, Carl Casey of Morehouse, Missouri, Tommy Newell of Morley, Missouri, Sonny Polley of Bell City, Missouri; two daughters, Julie Whitehead and Tammy Bailey both of Bell City, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Junior Surface of Clines Island, Missouri, Hughes Surface of Matthews, Missouri; and Charles surface of Bell City, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lou Kelley.

Friends may call on Monday, June 20, 2011, from 5 until 8 p.m., at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2011, at 11 a.m., in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Rodney D. Green, son of Dale and Betty Jo Bowman Green of rural Campbell, Missouri was born on September 2, 1954 in Kennett, Missouri and died on June 11, 2011 at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter at the age of 56.

Mr. Green was a resident of Bernie, a member of the Sunnyvale Baptist Church in Malden and a member of the Dexter Kiwanis Club.

Rodney grew up on a farm three miles west of Malden. He was a 1972 graduate of Malden Senior High School. He obtained his college education at Southeast Missouri State University and Arkansas State University. He completed the Nebraska School of Banking program in 1978 and completed the Graduate School of Banking of the South in 1988.

He began his banking career as an officer with the State Bank of Bernie in 1976. In 1992 he was named the Bernie manager for First Community Bank. In 2002, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and named the Malden Bank Manager. In 2003, he was then promoted to President of the Malden branch of the First Community Bank. He currently was the President of the First State Bank and Trust in Dexter.

On June 17, 2005 he was united in marriage to Mary Hueckel Ward at Essex. Mrs. Green survives of their home in Bernie.

Besides his wife and parents he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and husband Chad Crow of Sikeston and Jennifer and husband Daniel Neuhaus of Dexter; by one step-son, Dustin Ward of Kennett; by one sister and brother-in-law, Linnie Harris and husband Max of Jackson: and by three grandchildren, Karsyn, Carter and Chloe.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11 a.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick and Rev. Martin Goode officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.

Ruby Leona Crow, daughter of the late Walter M. Creg and Ethel Bell Jerls Creg was born on October 2, 1917, and died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Bloomfield, MO, at the age of 93.

Mrs. Crow was united in marriage to Wenzil Crow on August 18, 1934, in Bernie, MO. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1976.

Mrs. Crow was a homemaker, farm wife, avid gardener and loved to oil paint. She loved traveling and visited many parts of the USA. She lived in her rural home near Bernie for many years and attended the First Baptist Church of Bernie, MO.

Survivors include three sons, David Edward Crow, Larry Keith Crow, and Darell Duane Crow, all of rural Dexter; two daughters, Leona Lois Griffin of Dexter and Linda Sue Smothers of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren, Mark Griffin, Diane Siebert, Craig Crow, Kirk Crow, Brad Crow, Brent Swiney, Sonya Pixley, Chad Crow, Pam Tennant, Jason Crow, Mandy Crow, Whitney Smith and Mallory Crow; by 19 great-grandchildren, One great-great-grandchild; by one brother, Wayne Creg of Dexter.

She was preceded in death, other than by her husband and parents, by one son, Wenzil Dean Crow and one granddaughter, Deana Kay Crow Garrett. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Creg, Dee Creg, Harold “Bud” Creg and one sister, Betty Jones.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, MO.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Chapel in Bernie with her nephew, Rev. Dr. Douglas Low and Rev. Bill Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
