Rodney D. Green

Mr. Green was a resident of Bernie, a member of the Sunnyvale Baptist Church in Malden and a member of the Dexter Kiwanis Club.
Rodney grew up on a farm three miles west of Malden. He was a 1972 graduate of Malden Senior High School. He obtained his college education at Southeast Missouri State University and Arkansas State University. He completed the Nebraska School of Banking program in 1978 and completed the Graduate School of Banking of the South in 1988.
He began his banking career as an officer with the State Bank of Bernie in 1976. In 1992 he was named the Bernie manager for First Community Bank. In 2002, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and named the Malden Bank Manager. In 2003, he was then promoted to President of the Malden branch of the First Community Bank. He currently was the President of the First State Bank and Trust in Dexter.
On June 17, 2005 he was united in marriage to Mary Hueckel Ward at Essex. Mrs. Green survives of their home in Bernie.
Besides his wife and parents he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and husband Chad Crow of Sikeston and Jennifer and husband Daniel Neuhaus of Dexter; by one step-son, Dustin Ward of Kennett; by one sister and brother-in-law, Linnie Harris and husband Max of Jackson: and by three grandchildren, Karsyn, Carter and Chloe.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, June 13, 2011 from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11 a.m., in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Steve Fitzpatrick and Rev. Martin Goode officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Rodney Green scholarship fund c/o Chad Crow at Progressive Farm Credit Services, 1110 North Main, Sikeston, Missouri 63801 envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

Ruby Leona Crow

Mrs. Crow was united in marriage to Wenzil Crow on August 18, 1934, in Bernie, MO. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1976.
Mrs. Crow was a homemaker, farm wife, avid gardener and loved to oil paint. She loved traveling and visited many parts of the USA. She lived in her rural home near Bernie for many years and attended the First Baptist Church of Bernie, MO.
Survivors include three sons, David Edward Crow, Larry Keith Crow, and Darell Duane Crow, all of rural Dexter; two daughters, Leona Lois Griffin of Dexter and Linda Sue Smothers of Bloomfield; 13 grandchildren, Mark Griffin, Diane Siebert, Craig Crow, Kirk Crow, Brad Crow, Brent Swiney, Sonya Pixley, Chad Crow, Pam Tennant, Jason Crow, Mandy Crow, Whitney Smith and Mallory Crow; by 19 great-grandchildren, One great-great-grandchild; by one brother, Wayne Creg of Dexter.
She was preceded in death, other than by her husband and parents, by one son, Wenzil Dean Crow and one granddaughter, Deana Kay Crow Garrett. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Creg, Dee Creg, Harold “Bud” Creg and one sister, Betty Jones.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie, MO.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Chapel in Bernie with her nephew, Rev. Dr. Douglas Low and Rev. Bill Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Crow, resident of Bernie was born on October 2, 1917 and died on June 8, 2011 at the Golden Living Facility in Bloomfield at the age of 93.

Jo Ann Cooper

Jo Ann Cooper, daughter of the late Lawrence Jarrell and Pauline Kannady Jarrell was born on April 11, 1936 at Aid and departed this life in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on June 8, 2011 at the age of 75.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Dexter, a thirty two year employee of Brown Shoe Company in Bernie and a resident of Dexter.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Cooper on March 22, 1958 at Marks, Mississippi. Mr. Cooper survives of the home near Dexter.
Besides her husband,she is survived by one son, Randy Cooper of Dexter: by one grandson, Bradley Ryan Cooper of Dexter: by one great-grandson, Aiden Ryan Cooper of Dexter.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Carroll “Dean” Jarrell.

Lucille Hopkins, daughter of the late William Franklin Rickman and Lucy Jane Arnn Rickman, was born on January 1, 1924 in Piggott, Arkansas and passed away on June 8, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Dexter at the age of 87.
She was of the Church of Christ faith, a former nurse, a member of the Dexter Eagles Aerie # 4062, and a resident of Dexter.
She is survived by one son, Donald Powers of Dexter; by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Micheal Hopkins, five brothers, four sisters, and one great-grandchild.
