J. C. Bennett

J. C. Bennett, son of the late Robert Issac and Suzie Tuttle Bennett, was born in Bernie, Missouri on April 7, 1923, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on April 21, 2011, at the age of 88 years and 14 days.

He had lived in the Bernie and Dexter, Missouri area all his life. He was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene in Dexter, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during WWII.

On July 14, 1956, he was married to Nora Yvonne Jackson in Hernando, Mississippi.

Surviving are his wife, Nora Yvonne Bennett of Dexter, Missouri; two sons, Jay Bennett of Dexter, Missouri, Tracy Bennett of Bloomfield, Missouri; one daughter, Jana Bennett of Dexter, Missouri; six grandchildren; one brother, Donald Bennett of Chicago, Illinois. Other relatives and many friends also survive. He was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Archie, Norman, Leo and Robert Bennett; four sisters, Dorothy Burkhart, Opal Boose, Mildred Utsler and Jane Brown.

Visitation will be Monday, April 25, 2011, after 10 a.m., at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Graveside Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, at 1 p.m., at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors.

Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
