Altha Lois Watkins

Altha Lois Watkins, daughter of the late Thomas Andrew and Lilly Octavia Cox Smith, was born in Oak Ridge, Missouri on January 24, 1916, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on April 14, 2011, at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 16 days.

She had lived in Bloomfield, Missouri area all of her life until moving to the Golden Living Center in Dexter seven years ago. She had worked at Elder Manufacturing in Bloomfield, Missouri for 30 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

On December 26, 1934, she was married to Floyd G. Watkins. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1990.

Surviving are one son, Thomas June Watkins of Dexter, Missouri; one sister, Ruby DelSanto of Branson, Missouri and many nieces and nephews. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virgie Monroe and Irene Black, two brothers, Elvin Shipley Smith and Alfred Smith.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011, after 12 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri with Bro. Travis Quetermous of Dexter, Missouri officiating.

Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery near Bloomfield, Missouri.

Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
