2nd Annual Prayer Walk for Bloomfield Schools Set for August 16th

Bloomfield, Missouri - The 2nd Annual Prayer Walk at Bloomfield Schools is set for Wednesday, August 16th at 6:00 p.m.

All who believe in the power of prayer are invited.  Opening prayer by Heather White.

They will meet in High School Gym parking lot for opening prayer.

Then they will walk the perimeter of the campus praying silently.

Afterwards they will divide up and kneel or place a hand on specific buildings praying for the staff and students for the upcoming year.

All ages encouraged to come.

If you can't walk around campus there are benches available.

Last year more than 100 people turned-out for the first Prayer Walk for Bloomfield Schools.  It was a powerful and emotional evening as community members walked the campus and prayed for Bloomfield R-14 staff and students. Let's make this year even bigger!

Prayer Walk for Dexter Schools Set for August 7th
Dexter, Missouri - On Monday, August 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. members of the community will meet at the Southwest Elementary School and walk around Southwest Elementary, Central Elementary, T.S. Hill Middle School, Dexter High School and the Dexter School Administration Building and pray.

It is an opportunity to pray for our children, teachers, bus drivers, school administrators, school employees, athletes, parents, board members and anyone who is involved with Dexter’s youth.

You can walk or just stand and pray.  Groups may form or you may stand alone.  The point being, YOU are invited to come.  Last year more than 60 people came out.  This year being the 5th year for the Dexter School Prayer Walk lead by Greg and Roxanne McGhee.  

This is a wonderful way to start off the new school year!  It doesn’t matter what church you attend or even if you attend a church, EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND THE PRAYER WALK FOR DEXTER SCHOOLS!

Clothing and School Supplies Giveaway Event

Dexter, Missouri - The Church of Christ in Dexter is having a Clothing & School Supply Giveaway on Saturday, July 22nd from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The event will be held in the Activity Building located behind the church at 1014 N. One Mile Road, across from Burger King.

Clothing will be available for all ages and sizes.  School supplies will be pre-packaged for grades kindergarten - 12th grade.

There is absolutely no cost for this event and it is not restrict to just Dexter school children.  

Please come out and save money.  They realize the cost of education and want to help.  This is a wonderful community effort and they will be glad to help.

Dexter, Missouri - The First Baptist Church in Dexter will host the Sonshine House Clothing Giveaway on Wednesday, July 19th.  

Hours are from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  

Clothing is FREE for children ages birth to 18 years of age.

Please come to the Fellowship Hall at 11 W. Castor St. in Dexter, use the doors on Walnut Street to enter.  (Across from FM Bank).

Hero Central VBS at First United Methodist Church

Dexter, Missouri - Pre-Registration is underway for the Hero Central Vacation Bible School.  This year's VBS is sponsored by First United Methodist Church and First Christian Church of Dexter.

VBS will be held at the First United Methodist Church located at 501 S. Walnut Street from Monday, July 24, 2017 - Wednesday, July 26th from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

"At VBS Hero Central, your students will enjoy an interactive, energizing, Bible-based good time as they discover their strength in God. They will become Heroes and explore how to serve God and God’s mission for their lives. After a high-energy opening assembly at Hero Central, the Heroes make their way to the Bible Story Headquarters. Interactive Bible lessons reveal Hero Codes to equip your Heroes for an active life with God. Your Heroes will discover a Hero Verse (Bible memory verse) that will remain with them in their faith long after VBS."

"The students will expand on what they’ve discovered by participating in a variety of activities: making their own art projects at Craft Headquarters, singing new songs at Music Headquarters, exploring the wonders of creation at Science Headquarters, playing games at Recreation Headquarters, and enjoying tasty treats at Snack Headquarters. Along the way, the Heroes will hear about our mission project and as their respond to a call for action!"
