Cape Girardeau, Missouri - " Bikers for Re-Entry"  event will be hosted by Cape Girardeau area re-entry partners, businesses, and citizens on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Lawless Harley-Davidson.

All bikers are welcome to join the motorcycle run through the three scenic counties of Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, and Perry, and show off their bikes at the bike show.

In addition to door prizes, there will also be free food, music, and other family-friendly activities at Lawless Harley-Davidson that day.

Christian rock bands “Called” and “Stronghold” will perform.

Pre-registration for the ride by July 23rd guarantees a t-shirt.

Over 97% of people currently incarcerated in Missouri will one day return home to our communities, and they face a number of barriers upon release. Others are placed on probation and face many of those same barriers when trying to get their lives back on track to becoming more productive citizens.

Local re-entry groups, such as the Cape Girardeau Area Re-Entry team, bring community agencies, organizations, and citizens together to help break down those barriers through collaboration and innovation. Some of the biggest challenges are finding employment, stable housing, and transportation, and this event is being held to raise funds to support incidental expenses related to re-entry. Some need help getting their birth certificate and a photo ID to get a job, some need help with transportation to their new job until they get their first paycheck, and others need bus tickets to job interviews or medical appointments until they can get on their feet.

These people are our friends, family, and neighbors throughout our communities, and supporting them when they are trying to get their lives headed in the right direction makes a big difference—and also make our communities safer.

Events include: Food, games, entertainment-FREE  -- Fun run ride-$20; includes t-shirt if registered by 7/23  -- Additional t-shirts for passengers/others-$10 (while supplies last)  --  Bike Show-$5 entry fee per bike (FREE for paid “fun run” participants)!

Sponsorships are available for as little as $100. For more information or to pre-register or help sponsor the event, find the “Bikers for Re-Entry” page on Facebook or contact Kay Azuma at Community Caring Council (573-651-3747 x104).

Dexter, Missouri -
Paul Rink, who died almost a year ago was an avid supporter of 18FORE Life since it all began back in 2000.  Through the connection of the farming industry and agriculture business ventures, Rinck and Barry Aycock (CEO of AgXplore) valued a close friendship.

In honor of his friend, Paul Rinck, Dr. Barry Aycock wanted to remember his free and giving spirit and his commitment to friends and family and therefore Aycock decided to make a contribution to 18FORE Life.

At the 18FORE Life charity banquet a check in the amount of $10,000 was presented.  Scott Kruse was blown away by the gift and valued the donation dearly.  As with any donation the money goes towards providing $1,000 love offerings to area cancer patients.  Just recently Kruse announced that $90,000 was being mailed to cancer patients.

For more information about 18FORE Life click HERE.

Shown in the photo are from left to right:  Charlie Kruse, Ryan Lancaster representing AgXplore, Scott Kruse, Rinck's mother Jackie Rinck, Pam Kruse, and Rinck's sister, Amber Rinck.

Troop E Preparing for Holiday Travel Weekend

Poplar Bluff, Missouri - Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces that on Thursday, July 3, and on Sunday, July, 6, 2014, Troop E officers will take part in the 20-Mile Trooper project in an effort to promote safety and to reduce the number of traffic crashes in the Troop E area. This means Troop E will assign a trooper every 20 miles on Interstates 55 and 57, and on other selected secondary roads. The objective of the project is to enforce aggressively all traffic violations which may contribute to unsafe traveling conditions, and to place a trooper in close proximity of motorists who may need assistance. The Patrol is committed to continuing to reduce crashes and fatalities through our education and enforcement efforts.

Captain Ridens said, “The July Fourth holiday is typically one of the heaviest traveled holidays in Missouri. I would like to urge all motorists to make sure safe driving is a part of your plans. Make sure everyone is wearing a seat belt, and never drink and drive. Should you be celebrating the holiday on the water, I want to remind everyone to ensure they are wearing an approved life jacket while in a vessel and don’t operate a vessel while drinking."

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
