Dexter, Missouri – Summer means sizzling heat and swimming! Jump, splash, and dive, and stay cool in the pool on Family Swim Night!
SoutheastHEALTH and Dexter Parks and Recreation will host a Family Swim Night at the Dexter Aquatic Center. The public is encouraged to attend.
The event will be held Thursday, July 3rd from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. There will be door prizes and lots of fun! Cost is just $3.00 per person.
The first 35 kids that bring their families will receive a FREE T-shirt.
Just a few safety tips to follow:
1. Always swim with a buddy.
2. Never leave a young child unattended.
3. Protect your skin with sunscreen.
4. Drink plenty of water regularly and avoid caffeine.
5. Avoid distractions when supervising children.
6. Young children need flotation devices such as arm floaties.

Dexter, Missouri – The Keller Public Library will continue their Summer Reading program through the month of July. This year’s theme is Fizz, Boom, Read!
Bring your children each Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. The program is free and open to the public!
July 2 - "Animal Science" with Live Animals!
July 9 - "Fizz Boom" with Melissa Hahn!
July 16 - "Getting Crafty" with Science!
Children of all ages are welcome to attend the Fizz, Boom, Read Summer Reading program. These events are made possible through funding by the Friends of the Library!

Bloomfield, Missouri – The VFW of Dexter will host a Fish Fry on Saturday, June 28th at 2 p.m. at The Office.
The fish fry is sponsored by “The Office” and VFW Post 2659 of Dexter and is FREE to the public; however donations are gladly accepted!
Donations are utilized to assist Veterans in need. With your generosity they are able to continue to help Veterans and their families in need throughout the year.

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter Chamber of Commerce recognized Jim Bollinger and Son Heat & Air with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Mayor Joe Weber was on hand to cut the ribbon with owners Jim Bollinger and his son Braden.
Their business is located at 1110 Nina St. in Dexter and they are open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Jim and Braden can be reached by calling 573-624-4098 or all of your heating and air needs.

Bernie, Missouri – The Bernie Parents as Teachers Program has selected several June Students of the Month. They are both clients of PAT as well as attending summer school in preparation for kindergarten in the fall.
Students are from top to bottom: Ryleigh Foster, daughter of Jason and Becki Foster; Jaxon Standfield, son of Travis Stanfield and Stephanie craft; Kylie Allen, daughter of Justin and Kristen Allen; Jon Aycock, son of Barry and Michelle Aycock; Aubree McDowell, daughter of Tyler and Taylor Trover; Finley Watkins, son of Tcheanina Watkins and Chas Watkins: Josiah Copeland, son of Jerry and Denise Copeland; Abby Gordon, daughter of Adam and Kara Gordon; Grace Redding, daughter of Matt and Gail Redding; and Lila Wishon; daughter of Ryan Wishon and Tracy Wishon.
When asked, the students said their favorite parts of summer school included playing in the water, playing outside, and eating fun snack.
