2024 Dexter High School National Honor Society Members

Dexter High School held their annual National honor Society induction on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Dexter High School auditorium.

Mrs. Stone lead the induction with Mr. Glass and Mrs. Nea also speaking.  

Chapter officers are Alexis Bennett, President; Kaden Lively, Vice President; Amelia Holden, Secretary; Brooklyn Link, Treasurer; Shane Matthews, Service Coordinator; and Luke Gentry, Historian.

Members are: Alexis Bennett, Audrey Calvert, Tyson Carmode, Katarrah Churchill, Mya Darnell, Holden Duer, Anna Ellinghouse, Chase Farmer, Marie Fees, Preston Fitzpatrick, Luke Gentry, Gracen Hampton, Amelia Holden, Matthew Honeycutt, Brooklyn Hugglins, Gabrielle Ingram, Landon Jarrell, Anistin Kyle, Brooke Lasater, Brooklyn Link, Kaden Lively, Abbie Lloyd, Shane Matthews, Kennedy McCormick, Adeline Medley, Chloe Neuhaus, Hailey Northern, Katelynn Owens, Cy Scott, Lily Simpson, Macie Templemire, Allison Turnbo, Alyssa Warren, Le-Roy Watson, Emma Worley, and Ryan Young.

DHS MTCCCA Academic All-State Cross Country Announced

Dexter High School Cross Country Academic All-State recipients were recently announced.

Athletes must be nominated by their head coach and must be a current member of MTCCA (Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association).  The athletes must have competed in a state series meet either Districts or State to satisfy this requirement.

Athletes must meet one of the following criteria as well: 25 or higher on the ACT or 1150 or higher on the SAT or 3.6 cumulative GPA (non-rounded, non-weighted) at the end of the fall semester for Cross Country or the spring semester for Track & Field.

Those receiving these honors at Dexter High School are Cameron Bell, Ben Dowdy, Chase Farmer, Blake Lee, Hunter Massey, Jaxon King, Kenady Krapf, Kayleigh Hilfiker, Abbie Lloyd, Lorelei Guethle, and Quincey McLaughlin.

Marie Fees Named 2024 Dexter High School Winter Homecoming Queen

Dexter High School held its 2024 Winter Homecoming coronation on Friday, January 19th at the Bearcat Event Center.  The boys basketball team hosted the New Madrid County Central Eagles.

The 2024 DHS Winter Homecoming Queen is Marie Fees.

Marie Fees was nominated by the Lady Cats Basketball Team and is a senior at Dexter High School.

She is the daughter of Jim and Willa Fees.

Marie is a member of Sr. Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, HOSA, National Honors Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, varsity Girls Basketball, varsity Track and Field Team.

Her future plans after graduation is to attend the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and major in Botany.  She then wants to pursue a career in crop Genetic Engineering.

Retiring 2023 DHS Winter Homecoming Queen, Callie Whitaker, Escorted by Cole Gibson.

Dexter High School held its 2024 Winter Homecoming coronation on Friday, January 19th at the Bearcat Event Center.  The boys basketball team hosted the New Madrid County Central Eagles.

The Retiring 2023 DHS Winter Homecoming Queen, Callie Whitaker was escorted by Cole Gibson.

She is a 2023 graduate of Dexter High School and is currently living in St. Louis where she is attending The Salon Professional Academy.

Her future plans after graduating are to start her career in cosmetology and begin working in a salon in St. Louis.

Cole Gibson is also a 2023 graduate of Dexter High School and is currently employed at WW Wood Project in Dudley, Missouri. 

His future plans are to move to St. Louis and begin a career in landscaping, hoping to start his own business one day!

2024 DHS Winter Homecoming Candidate Featuring Allison Turnbo

Dexter High School held its 2024 Winter Homecoming coronation on Friday, January 19th at the Bearcat Event Center.  The boys basketball team hosted the New Madrid County Central Eagles.

Allison Turnbo is a senior at Dexter High School and was nominated by the Boys Basketball Team.  

She is escorted by her brother, Devin Turnbo.

They are the children of Jason and Holly Turnbo.

Allison is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Business Leaders of America, DECA, Sr. Beta Club, Pep Club and she is the Regional and Chapter President of FCCLA.  She is also a member of the Girls Basketball Team, Football Cheer Squad and she runs Track.

Her future plans are to attend college and become a kindergarten teacher.

Her brother, Devin, is a sophomore at Dexter High School and is on the varsity football and varsity basketball teams.

When asked to describe Allison, he said, "My Beautiful Sister!"
