Kindergarten Students Earn Positive Office Referral Awards

Dexter, Missouri - Southwest Elementary honored Kindergarten students with Positive Office Referral certificates.

This award was presented to students who consistently showed the 3R's RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and READY TO LEARN.

Each student received a certificate and a FREE Taco from Taco Bell.

Bernie School Board Meeting Minutes Released for November 11, 2019

The Bernie School Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, November 11, 2019.  

Announcement of filing dates for election to the Board of Education were announced to be December 17 through January 21, 2020.  Board members whose positions are up for re-election are Rick Beaird, Richard Owens and Denny Riddle.  Anyone interested in filing may do so beginning December 17th at 8 am until January 21th at 5pm in the Central Office during regular business hours.

The Board approved Program evaluations on Assessment and Health Services.

The Board approved school trips as follows:

Explore Club to City Museum, St Louis, MO – December 11, 2019

Jr Beta convention - Springfield, MO - December 3 thru December 5, 2019

Sr Beta convention - Springfield, MO – December 5 thru December 8, 2019  

During Executive Session.

The Board approved adding Nathan Harris to the substitute list.

The Board also approved dividing Prom Coordinator into Co-sponsors with Lindsay Beaird and Lisa Henry sharing the duties.

The Board approved Lisa Henry as the Sr Beta Sponsor and Bridget Heiser as the Sr Beta Co-Sponsor

The next meeting of the Board of Education will be December 9.

T.S. Hill Middle School Students Selected to All-District Band

Jackson, Missouri - The annual All-District Band try-outs were held on November 5, 2019 at Jackson High School. Several T.S. Hill Middle students were selected!

Grease to be Performed by Dexter High School Choir

Dexter, Missouri - The Dexter High School Choir under the direction of Jamie Sepulvado will perform Grease November 20th - 23rd.

Tickets will be sold at the door only and are $5.00 for adults 18-over, $3.00 for students 5 years - 17 years and free for children 4 and under.

Start time each night will be 6:30 p.m.

"You do not want to miss the one and only Grease being performed right here in Dexter," per Sepulvado.  "You will fall in love with our Danny and Sandy.  You will laugh hard at our Greasers and Pink Ladies.  You will be transported to the 50’s with the fun dances and songs that you will hear."

Come and see a fantastic show filled with a huge cast of talented choir students. 

"Come on in and relax in our new auditorium seating and enjoy a night out watching a terrific show," continued Sepulvado.

DHS Students Selected to Missouri All-State Choir

Dexter, Missouri - Three Dexter High School students were selected to the Missouri All State Choir.

Pictured are: Mattilyn Williams (junior), Madeline Parker (senior) and Tyler Montgomery (junior).

They will represent their high school at the January 2020 MMEA convention held in Osage Beach, Missouri over the course of four days.
